"Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect."
In 1855 when Chief Seattle (allegedly) spoke these lines they represented but a small part of his oft quoted speech which later became a flag that eco-activists often rallied around and his words became a much used emblem for the environmental movement from the 1970s onwards. I say 'allegedly' due to the controversy that surrounds the (mis)translation of it, which was rendered into English from Seattle's native tongue Duwamish by unknown hands, and indeed the true authorship of this speech is now in question. See link below for more, if this conspiracy grabs you.
Now, today, this resonates on a slightly different frequency, due mostly to the rise in conscious awareness that has prolifigated in the last few years. So let's tune into the clarity of this clarion call shall we, dear friends? And take it line by line to extrapolate its deeper meaning as we stand on the shores of change that threaten to sweep us all out to sea...
"Humankind has not woven the web of life"
This wise elder of the Duwamish tribe says we are NOT the originators of life.
Fair enough...most people ascribe that role to whatever god, or gods, they personally believe in...to the divine spark, that logos of creativity on an unimaginable scale, the big, or little, bang...still boomeranging around the universe in endless cycles...the cogs and the wheels of our beloved little torus donut spinning madly through the vast unfathomable vacuums of infinite space, or emerging from dark matter, depending on your point of view.
"We are but one thread within it."
With spider like persistence he continues with his weaving analogy as Seattle (and yes, he did lend his name to that great city) further says we are but one strand, or thread, upon the web of creation. We are within each and every strand of DNA microsoms of the macrocosm...molded flesh and blood created from carbons, sulphurs, and the minerals that make up the minefields of galaxies within the known mindfields of space. And far be it from me to mess with the simple beauty of his original statement...but heck, folks, you just know I am gonna don't you? Whenever there is talk of the micro/macrocosm, I am always reminded of the poet William Blake, high on who knows what, tripping away, words dripping like ink blots from whatever black holes his imagination flew through and that his inspired quill pen then scratched out...that precious fragment from Auguries of Innocence;
"To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And Heaven in a Wild Flower
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour"
Such simply inspiring eloquence transports us from the microcosm to the macrocosm and back again in a flash, igniting along the way the conscious pause, the deep breath in, the sigh and the appreciation of the glories, the smallest of which is held sacred within the web of life, of which, as Seattle reminds us, we are but a tiny fraction...one teeny weeny speck of crystaline star dust...amidst the spectacular, humungously inconceivable vastness of life that abounds and hounds our every waking, and every dreamfilled, thought.
"Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves."
Seattle next offer us words of caution. Break but one strand and the web is broken, changed, and altered beyond our cognition or ability, to fix it. Even a quick dab of superglue will fail to fix a spiders web once it is broken!
Think on this, dear friends. Think how many times, in the arrogance of our inventiveness, we have irrevocably severed the strands of life on this web of wonders.
How many webs lie broken and battered, whether by the sheer willful neglect (animal extinction for example) or by the magnitude of malignancy in manipulating our weather? Here I am thinking of the geoengineering projects like HAARP, DEW aka Directed Energy Weapons...from the electrogmagnetic soup in which we swim to the so called Chemical Spraying of the sky, the geoengineered crops, artificially chemically biomanipulated and perniciously pesticided to the point of sheer poison? Our precious water, polluted and perverted with chlorine, lead, mercury, aluminium, and plastics...our oceans awash with tides bearing, not seashells, but plastics, unexploded mines, unseen nuclear radiation and spilt oil.
Hard, is it not, to see how Seattle's web of life remains intact?
Hard, is it not, to not weep salty tears at the desecration, destruction and despotic power that despises the beauty, and preciousness, of ALL life?
And finally we come to the final line.
"ALL things are bound together. ALL things connect." (Capitalisation, mine)
To that I say yee ha and oh yeah!!! Indeed they are and do...100th Monkeys all...from each cell, each molecule, every proton of light, each thought, each breath, being but the recycled air of all the ancestors who stand in lines behind us...to each drop of water in the swelling oceans, to each animal, bird, or insect in the mighty food chain, each firebird of our imaginations, every beat of our hearts synchronised with the pulsing of our planet's resonant hertz frequency (they are exactly the same, in case you weren't aware). From the resonance of the Solfeggio, where not one thing, not one person, nor animal or plant is divisible from either itself or the whole, altogether weaving a song, a waveform flexing and pulsating in the aether creating either harmonic convergence or dissonance.
We ARE all connected at the deeper levels of the psyche just as Jung postulated, indeed it has been documented how within the language of universal archetypes we all perceive similar icons, irrespective of culture and conditioning.
So to all of you longing for love, to an end to the perils of your own perception that you are alone....sitting there reading these whirling words at home, seemingly alone, I say this;
Aloneness is nothing more than a pervasive but powerful illusion.
Loneliness is but an illusion of our own separateness.
This lonely dream might even be considered a bit of an indulgence because not one thing, and no-one, exists in isolation...not now, not ever. Every single filament in the gossamer threads that make up the web of this life are inextricably woven together, each one linked in unending limitless boundlessness. Each one naturally seeking others in the chain like pearls of dew upon the web.
And knowing this frees you. It lifts you up, and gives you wings. And with those wings comes an abiding and intractable sense of responsibility. To live each day fully, appreciating the magnitude of the magnificence around you, and to act for the good of all in everything little, or large, thing that you do.
This, for me, is the true meaning inherent within Seattle's clarion call. And it is a heartening, hopeful message, one that requires the acknowledgement of each of us, in unity, that these concepts are more than just theories.
And now its high time we heard it again...not as a blast from the past from the lips of a long dead elder and speech maker of tribal wisdom...but this time from a modern living man of "alternative" science, a man who has stepped out of the box and dared to do science differently. Inclusively. Intuitively. Nassim Haramein said the following as recently as 10th January 2018...
"One of the most fundamental errors in our human understanding of the universe is the idea that it is even possible for anything to be completely separate from anything else.
Every point (and therefore every thing) in the entire universe is connected to every-other point and thing in the universe by the space that everything in the universe is defined by.
You may think of space as being empty, but science has proven that this perception is an illusion, that space is actually completely full of sub-quantum vibrations called "vacuum fluctuations" that when all added up equal nearly an infinite amount of energy.
This field of energy that permeates the entire universe has been given a lot of names over the decades: the aether, the plenum, the zero point field, the quantum foam,the source field, the vacuum, God, call it whatever you like, the SPACE that fills everything also connects everything.
There is no such thing as true "separation" anywhere in the entire universe"
And as you can probably tell from the way I have woven all of these threads together into a connected conscious whole...that I am in complete agreement with him. Interestingly if Chief Seattle were alive today I suspect he would have agreed too. And from across the deep divide of space and linear time I can almost hear the rolling booming of his voice, like distant thunder, saying YES!!!

And right there, brother, I can see that the spirit of connectedness is NOT lost on you!! We rise and evolve when we uplift others...or maybe, steemit style, that should be upvote others!!??!!😊
