111 - The Besa Mafia Conspiracy

They are mean and out to get you. They do much more than beat you up. They want to burn you alive. They are sent by your enemies, friends and loved ones.

The Besa Mafia story is bigger than any scam out there. Sit back with your popcorn and watch the worst scams and conspiracies unfold. The anonymity of the online world leaves the Internet open to all kinds of deceitful activities: hacking, drugs, financial and personal information theft, weapons and a whole lot more.

But they are just the starters. The main course is far more sinister and includes everything from poisons to killing to burning alive.

Embroiled in all this, is our very own Bitcoin.

While this may not be a conspiracy directly related to the crypto world, it does involve Bitcoin theft, so we’ll go ahead and talk about it.

Besa Mafia, the Dark Side of the Web

In 2016, Besa Mafia made its entry on the Web with a well-designed site that openly claimed to be an Albanian organized crime organization, with employees working globally. Who are these so-called employees? Hitman!

The website is no longer online. This is a screenshot of the site.

The site clearly stated that their employees (criminals) could be hired to do anything from beating someone up to burning them live in their car or killing them by some other means.

The owners marketed themselves vigorously on the clearweb. Their website was filled with testimonials from satisfied customers who either got someone killed or beaten up. While the writing style and testimonials didn’t really give it much authenticity; with time, people were convinced that this was a real hitman site, offering contract killers.

Even on Reddit, where people shred everything to bits, there were many that believed Besa Mafia was genuine. Rumors of people knowing someone who got someone else killed or beaten through Besa Mafia started making the rounds. That was the power of Besa Mafia marketing.

Well, there are always people like you and me, who are not easily convinced. They just brushed the whole thing aside, as the work of a young prankster on the loose, trying to make some quick money through a fake website.

Enter Deku-Shrub the Dark Web Myth Buster who Suspects a Conspiracy

Deku-Shrub was the owner of the pirate-london blog. He suspected a conspiracy behind the fake website.
He went after them with a vengeance and rebutted every single testimonial on their page. He made fun of them on his blog. He believed the site was fake.

Besa Mafia tried to appease him. He received a mail from them asking for a review of their website on his blog. He responded saying he would be willing to give a review of their site, but he had several questions.

• Why did you use stock photos on your website and pixelate them?
• Why do you ask people to buy bitcoins from different exchanges?

The questions he asked were interrogative in nature and there were many. You will them on his blog, the link to which is given above.

Besa Mafia Hits Back

The result of his rebuttals and mistrust soon came back to Deku-Shrub. He emailed a crypto group with a link to a threatening video he received. It showed the torching of a car and a paper with a dedication written for pirate London.”

Later they received two similar videos of torching and dedications, to pirate London and Fox of “Hidden Answers”, who was also against Besa Mafia.

They both theorized that Besa Mafia was stealing people’s Bitcoins through false claims.

The Unveiling of the Bitcoin Theft Conspiracy

Source

The site gets hacked! The hackers dump the results of their adventure to pastebin. We have no idea if there is any truth to this, but the files in the pastebin are said to contain the “orders” placed by customers, as well as details of their “targets.” The hackers revealed the admin password, and it was “fucked.”

The result as we know it: The website was a complete scam. They only faked being hitman.

They conspired to extract bitcoins from customers.

People paid real bitcoins to get someone killed or beaten

The Besa Mafia Bitcoin Extraction and Dealings

Source

Supposedly, the blockchain recorded transactions of a woman paying a total of 29 bitcoins in three installments, to get the woman who slept with her husband killed. It is believed that Besa was dealing with this when the hack took place. She paid a total of $13,000.

Besa Mafia was playing a dangerous game. After extracting as much Bitcoin as possible from the customers, they reported them to law enforcement using a fake email ID.. **[email protected].

Through their correspondence with their customers, they managed to extract personal details of the person ordering the kill.

Their Marketing Strategies That Worked Like a Charm

• They planted people on all the popular websites and forums. People found glorious testimonials of the Besa Mafia everywhere.
• They offered 10% of the money paid by customers, to referrals.
• They offered to pay 1 Bitcoin for signing up as a hitman.
• They offered big money in the form of loans. The requirement to avail a loan was to deposit 1 bitcoin.

It is a wonder how they could fool so many people for almost a year of their existence online. But even now, we really don’t know if they actually killed anyone or they were COMPLETELY fake.

What's a conspiracy without a twist....
