Dear big brother
Lets begin by putting on our tinfoil hats. Conspiracy theorists have long claimed that our world is controlled by a few secretive power elites who act as deities and oversees world governments from the shadows. Some of these theories are not as farfetched as many would think once you understand all it requires to control the masses is to have a complete understanding of human psychology. It is scary to think that any organization capable of manipulating the human mind to their advantage will have absolute power. Many fortune 500 companies and social media giants have invested billions of dollars into understanding consumerism in hopes of uncovering the secret formula to make us spend more money. Governments are no exception and they are actively learning how to better control the masses to keep them in power.
The purpose of the government is to control and regulate the populace. Slowly but surely, they are perfecting the craft of understanding of human nature and tendencies. However, where do we begin to draw the line and decide it is morally wrong pursuit this knowledge with the intent of unequivocal control? We all know that absolute power in the hands of man will corrupt absolutely. A continuation down this current path will lead to a tragic conclusion we won’t be able to stop.
Step one: create isolation
Our world has never been smaller since the introduction of the internet, yet we’ve never been further apart from one another as. Best way to gauge this phenomenon is to ask yourself: how well do you actually know your neighbors? People are becoming increasingly skeptical of strangers, largely thanks to mass media for instilling fear and distrust through constant negative press over time. Our society is now so fragmented it is practically impossible to meet someone new without a mutual acquaintance.
When I was young growing up in the suburb of Vancouver, my parents, despite their broken English, managed to befriend the nice elderly Caucasian couple next door when we first moved into the neighborhood. I noticed generally people were far friendlier and approachable back in the 90’s when compared to now. It’s no wonder many of us who grew up through the 90’s had fond memories of that decade; it really was a much simpler and sweeter time.
Since then, the world has become a far colder and threatening place largely due to the competitive nature of capitalism and the “everyone for themselves mindset”. This is mindset is especially evident in the lower class as they compete with one another by any means necessary for survival and serves as an effective method to suppress them at bottom of the food chain. Those with better education and fairing better economically are more likely to associate with one another and work together.
Nowadays, it is entirely possible to go through an entire day without talking to more than 3 people. We try to avoid social interactions because mainstream media, parents, and schools teach us it’s dangerous to talk to strangers. The invention of cellphones further complicates the problem as people become more addicted to the screen than real life interactions.
Step two: create confusion
Many of us would like to think we are smarter than the masses, however, not many of us actually like to think. These same individuals often claim the mass media are for sheep and do not read or watch the news. Yet ironically, the only news they trust is on social media platform shared with them through family and friends. Governments and companies alike are taking notes and are utilizing our ignorance to their advent age: to create confusion.
There is a huge risk in using social media as your new source for much of the material are very loosely regulated if at all. More importantly, the biggest risk lies in the false sense of security and trust you have for people within your inner circle. You are more likely to blindly like and share posts from your friends and family because you trust them, when your family and friends may not always be the most reliable judge of “real news”. What’s sad about this is predicament is that popular posts are often confused with the truth on social media.
Trusting social media to be a reliable news source is like trusting a hairstylist to design your house; both have to do with design, but completely unrelated. I need not reiterate how disastrous that is and how stupid that sounds. When confronted with this growing concern, Facebook claims they are simply a “platform” for people to share content with one another and do not wish to be categorized in the same category as traditional media and news. In doing so, Facebook effectively mitigates all responsibility for upholding content standards traditional media are held to. This means false news can propagate just as easily as real news and there’s no content quality control or curation from the social media platform, greatly increasing the risk of misinformation and create further isolation between individuals.
Step three: give them a carrot & let them fight for it
“Humans are all selfish by nature and can be easily blinded by greed.”
Ever wondered why we are encouraged to seek material wealth, status and fame instead of solving world hunger and poverty? We are all victims of a cancerous system that seeks to exploits our selfish tendencies towards material wealth and distract us from major world problems. The subconscious programming of the mind starts young and it all begins with our school system.
Our brutally efficient school system placed a huge emphasis on obtaining the letter grade and much of the materials taught are not applicable to real life. Most of us will have gone through school without retaining much of the materials taught to us. The “one size fits all” approach forces conformity and destroys the creative spark many intuitively had as children. The primary objective is to manufacture the model citizens who will abide by the law and be easy to control; slaves to serve as a simple cog in the monetary machine for governments and big banks called the economy.
The fruits of our labour
The power elite has successfully created an ecosystem in which either the common man is too preoccupied to make ends meet than to fight the power or they’ve been influenced to think they are well educated when they aren’t. How many of us actually understand how our economy works? Unlocking the dark secrets of our monetary system will give us a glimpse into the biggest fraud in the history of mankind.
On this note, I shall conclude this blog by sharing with you a video by monetary historian, Michael Maloney. His video series, The Secrets of Money, thoroughly explanation exposes our banking system for the ingenious fraud it truly is. A system in which honest working-class individuals are forced to pay taxes on every hard-earned dollar towards our ever-growing national debt passed down from previous generations. Enjoy.
