The NGO community is riddled with corruption. There are amazing projects around but a lot of the big money and aid projects are often littered with the most appalling corruption, deception, theft and lies.
These groups have been disgraced so many times that we should not be giving them money! Further we must insist on a fair code of conduct or cut off their sources of funding completely.
Sometimes the fish has gone rotten at the head and the entire thing needs to be thrown away and start afresh!
Oxfam Director Using Resources For Prostitutes
The country director for Oxfam admitted a few months ago that he had been using prostitutes at his residence during a relief mission to Haiti.
I have no problem with prostitution and as it is unstoppable. I am in favor of legalization and management for harm reduction and the safety of those engaged in the most ancient of professions.
However during times of natural disaster many woman may be forced through hardship into prostitution which they may not have considered before. Here we have the "director", the "boss", of a charity responding to a disaster but using aid money to buy prostitutes.
The hypocrisy stinks! 😡
Sadly this seems to be the same story we hear again and again about large charities and UN "piece keepers" abusing their positions and other people's money to commit crimes against those they are trying to protect. It seems that they are looking for immoral people to run these organizations so they can be bribed or blackmailed into facilitating the theft of much of the charities money.
What Is Done About These Crimes?
The answer to that sadly is very little! However we can do a bit. For starters I want to Name & Shame the Oxfam director who was allowed to resign in 2011.
He is Roland Van Hauwermeiren and he has denied abusing children or using prostitutes and contests claims he threw parties with prostitutes as “lies and exaggerations”. However he admitted having up to three “intimate” encounters. Who else thinks this smells like a cover up!
The fact that all this happened in 2011 has surely helped smudge the facts and truth over. Why has an investigation taken so long?
This guy got paid well to "assist" those who are suffering around the world. Yet he uses the resources at his disposal to take advantage of the most vulnerable.
Given all the alleged abuses of children, women and theft from the Haiti missions this is another example of how disgusting the entire "industry" of giving has become. The moral are not welcome at the top because only the immoral will allow all the theft and abuses.
There are significant technical resources at our disposal which would allow these criminals to be prosecuted for their crimes. UN soldiers accused of rape should be given DNA tests and then made to face the consequences. Their example will stand as a deterrent to others who wish to abuse the powers we invest in them.
Yet nothing is done!
We need to speak with our words such as on Steemit and I believe we need to stop giving money and funding to these criminals. I don't!
They are liars and thieves. They have been caught literally with their "pants down" too many times. Their credibility is in tatters!
We should stop giving money to these wolves in sheep's clothing! Stop funding them and tell all those you know to do the same. Their marketing campaigns are mostly lies. We cut their funding off at the head and they will wither and die.
Lets look for better alternatives for giving such as with Steemit and crypto currencies!

Going off at a bit of a tangent here, but I recently came across a rather disconcerting side affect of legalising prostitution. Prostitution is legal in Germany and my sister was talking to a friend there who told her about this, so I'm assuming her friend was referring to Germany. With it being legal, the system now classes it as a job, so if you're on job seekers allowance and work in prostitution is the only thing available then you have to apply for it under the terms of receiving your welfare payments.
I do like the opportunity that Steem offers for us to fund things directly without these questionable middle men.
