When it comes to the rituals of secret societies, we, the uninitiated, only get mere glimpses.

However, in our age of high technology, where every person has an advanced surveillance system in their pockets, it's becoming harder and harder to keep such rituals secret for too long.

Secret rituals get infiltrated and hidden ceremonies get recorded. The truth gets out.

I recently wrote a post about the Bohemian Grove, Secret Societies: Bohemian Grove, who, as it happens, had one of their secret rituals, called The Cremation of Care, infiltrated and recorded by the controversial radio and video host, Alex Jones. This video is likely his most historic work; nobody had ever seen anything like this before in real life.

This is the sort of thing that people thought was only in movies like Eyes Wide Shut (nsfw). Yet, here it is, caught on video, an actual secret society ritual.

I thought it would be useful to go over what people believe is happening in this ceremony.

Here is the full documentary by Alex Jones where he details everything that happened leading up to the recording of the Cremation of Care.

The film is a bit long at an hour and 31 minutes. The first part of it consists of interviews about what the Bohemian Grove is and the sorts of people who are members of it, then it elaborates on how they got into the facility, and finally at around an hour it starts to show the ceremony itself.

The Cremation of Care is said to be an annual theatrical production written, produced and performed by and for members of the Bohemian Club, and staged at the Bohemian Grove near Monte Rio, California at a small artificial lake amid a private old-growth grove of Redwood trees.

The ceremony happens on the first night of the annual encampment and is supposed to be an allegorical banishing of worldly cares for the club members, and "to present symbolically the salvation of the trees by the club".

In 1878, the Bohemian Club of San Francisco first took to the woods in Taylorville, California (present-day Samuel P. Taylor State Park) for a summer celebration that they called Midsummer High Jinks. Poems were recited, songs were sung, and dramatic readings were given; the practice was repeated each summer in other areas, primarily near the Russian River in Sonoma County. In 1881, the ceremony of the Cremation of Care was first conducted after the various individual performances, with James F. Bowman as Sire.

On the surface this performance seems quite titular: it is intended to symbolize the abolishing of "care", meaning these men of power from all over the country come to this beautiful place once a year to simply forget all of their cares and relax.

The ceremony was further expanded in 1893 by a member named Joseph D. Redding, with a Midsummer High Jinks entitled The Sacrifice in the Forest, or simply "Druid Jinks", in which brotherly love and Christianity battled and won against paganism, converting the druids away from bloody sacrifice. Redding formed the framework of the ceremony but the main actors, including George Tisdale Bromley as High Priest, were asked to supply their own major speeches. In 1904, the prologue to William Henry Irwin's Grove Play The Hamadryads included text such as "Touch their world-blind eyes with fairy unguents." The play depicted the intrusion, the battles, and the symbolic death of the maleficent Spirit of Care.

Staging

The ceremony involves the poling across a lake of a small boat containing an effigy of Care (called "Dull Care"). Dark, hooded figures receive from the ferryman the effigy which is placed on an altar, and, at the end of the ceremony, set on fire. This "cremation" symbolizes that members are banishing the "dull cares" of conscience.

At the time the ceremony was written, the word "care" did not have the same meaning as we colloquially understand it today, which is to pay attention to something out of benevolent concern. Rather, "care" meant something more along the lines of "worry, anguish, anxiety". See the History of Care

The Owl

Here is Mark Passio, an ex-Satanist and student of the occult, describing the symbolism of the owl in the Cremation of Care.

He calls the owl the "mascot of the sorcerers". It is identified with consciousness that is aware and uses that knowledge to suppress the uninitiated. This exactly represents the nature of "occult", which is to say "hidden knowledge". Wherever you see the symbol of the owl you should be skeptical that you are receiving the whole truth.

Passio says that elements of the Care event are derived from ancient Babylonian ceremonies where sacrifices, often children, were immolated for the god Moloch.

Moloch is the biblical name of a Canaanite god associated with child sacrifice. The name of this deity is also sometimes spelled Molech, Milcom, or Malcam.

As Passio explains, in the Canaanite tradition, Moloch was more often represented as a bull, but when a ceremony was intended to have a particular focus on an aspect of consciousness, a horned owl could be used as it had both the characteristics of the bull as well as the owl's attributes of hidden wisdom, which is the feminine aspect of consciousness.

The ritual, understood in its full symbolic significance, entails a subversion of the feminine aspect of consciousness. There is the massive owl to whom the sacrifice is intended to appease, then they take an effigy of a child which is floated along the water (which is part of the hermetic juxtaposition of "as above, so below" as the placid pool reflects the owl and robed administrants), then they set the effigy on fire.

This represents the immolation of the "inner child". It is a subconscious trigger to annihilate emotion and empathy, so rather than being a simple representation of the wiping away of anxiety, the occult message is instead to destroy your faculties of consideration for others (the feminine principle). Its intention is to allow the attendees to proceed without consideration of their emotional response to the things they do.

There were many startling revelations in the Wikileaks Clinton emails from a few years ago, but the one that always stays in my mind is when Hillary Clinton aide Lew Amselem is emailing Huma Abedin about what seems to be normal political business, but then ends his email like this:

With fingers crossed, the old rabbit's foot out of the box in the attic, I will be sacrificing a chicken in the backyard to Moloch . . .

HONDURAS: MAYBE, MAYBE

Seriously.

When it comes to matters of the occult, there is naturally a layering element which must be worked through to get to the heart of the matter.

These things are hidden under layers upon layers, which is entirely the nature of the occult and its hierarchical structures.

In other words: this topic could be delved into ad nauseam. But for the time being I'll leave it at this and ask what your thoughts are on the matter.
