What Are They Hiding in Antarctica?

Antarctica is the fifth largest continent in the world of which 98 % of it is covered in ice. Antarctica was first seen in 1820 during the Russian exploration led by Fabia Gottlieb Von Bellingshausen and Mikhail Lazarev, however remained unexplored until 1895 when a group of Norwegians were the first to set foot on the continent. Today there are between 4000 and 6000 researchers that inhabit the island, conducting various research and experiments.

Antarctica has always been shrouded in mystery, due to limited information about the continent and strict controls of whom is permitted on the continent.There has been many strange conspiracy theories about Antarctica, but the most interesting ones are that of Operation High Jump, and The Nazi Exploration.

In the 1930’s,The Nazi’s were very interested in Antarctica (named New Swabia by Hitler), and led many expeditions there. It has never been revealed what exactly their mission was, leading to much speculation.

During the second world war Hitler requested that extra large U-boats be built, which could carry a large amount of cargo. It is rumoured that Hitler’s most secret military technology was taken to Antarctica, where bases could be built below the ice, to continue to keep it secret.

Another speculation is that elite members of the Nazi Party were part of the Thule Society, which practiced occultism. Their name derived from ‘Ultima Thule’, a mythical country in Greek and Roman Mythology, which they believed to be located somewhere in the Atlantic near Greenland and Iceland. This country was the supposed home of the ‘Aryan Race’.

They further believed, that a race of alien beings lived on the earth in secret hidden caverns inside the earth’s crust, in a place known as Agartha, and this they believed to be in Antarctica, which would explain their many expeditions to the area.

Another conspiracy is that of Operation High Jump led by Admiral E. Byrd in 1946, where the United States sent a large Military fleet consisting of an aircraft carrier, twelve warships, a submarine, over twenty airplanes and helicopters as well as a crew of four thousand men which the said was for scientific exploration, but why on earth would they need so much military equipment for scientific research?

What was even more strange, is that the expedition that was scheduled for 5 months,ended abruptly after only 2 months with no explanation given to the public.

After the sudden end to the expedition Admiral Beard had this to say in an interview with a newspaper, about the expedition:

Admiral Richard E. Byrd warned today that the United States should adopt measures of protection against the possibility of an invasion of the country by hostile planes coming from the polar regions. The admiral explained that he was not trying to scare anyone, but the cruel reality is that in case of a new war, the United States could be attacked by planes flying over one or both poles.

In another interview he has the below to say about Antarctica:

“Strangely enough, there is an area left in the world today an area as big as the United States that’s never been seen by a human being.”, Byrd stated, referencing it as the land “beyond the South Pole”.

What happened during the expedition which caused them to end it so suddenly? Conspiracy Theorists have said that they had received resistance from hostile flying saucers, while they were there and that some of the men had lost their lives and they also lost some of their military fleet, which is why they could no longet complete the mission.

Many years after, between 1983 and 1997, researchers had apparently seen ‘Flying Silver Discs’ flying over the Transantarctic Mountains where they also spotted a large hole next to ancient ruins, located only 5 miles from the Geographic South Pole, a supposed ‘No Fly Zone’.

What are they hiding from us, if anything? Could it be extra-terrestrials or covert military operations. We might never know!
