Pisces is a constellation that appears in the east of the head from autumn to winter. It is symbolized by two connected fish swimming in the opposite direction at the same time. From October to December every year, the residents of the northern hemisphere face the southern sky around 8 p.m. and can see a huge square composed of four bright stars, namely Pegasus. In the southeast of Pegasus, there are several small stars (ω, λ, κ, γ, θ stars) forming an irregular polygon, which is a part of Pisces, called "West fish"; several dark stars (σ, τ, π, χ, etc.) near Andromeda form another irregular polygon, which is another part of Pisces, called "North fish".

Pisces West fish and North fish are arranged in a huge "V" shape, like a ribbon connecting the tails of the two fish. Each side of the V represents a fish, and the connecting point is the alpha star at the tip of the v. In ancient Roman mythology, Pisces is the embodiment of Venus and Cupid. The stars that make up this zodiac constellation are very dark, but its shape is easy to observe where there is no light pollution. In Greek legend, the God of "love and beauty" is Aphrodite. When she came to Olympus, the gods were immediately attracted by her beauty.

Zeus, the God of heaven, expressed his love for her many times, but Aphrodite did not want to be with Zeus. Zeus held a grudge and married her to an ugly and lame craftsman. Later, Aphrodite broke away from Zeus, fell in love with Ares and married him. They have children and live happily. Their favorite child is Eros (known as Cupid in Roman legend). Aphrodite and Eros are in charge of marriage affairs in the world. Eros, the little god of love, has two beautiful wings on his back. He often carries a gold bow and two sharp arrows, the gold arrow and the silver arrow. The golden arrow is a noble and pure arrow of love; the silver arrow is a pure arrow. Neither God nor man can resist the power of these two sharp arrows. It is said that one day, the mother and son were walking along the Euphrates River. Suddenly, a huge whale monster rushed towards them. This guy had 100 snake heads and was spewing flames from his eyes, nostrils and mouth.

In amazement, Aphrodite is so anxious that he takes the little god of love and jumps into the river, turns into two fish, and quickly dives into the water to escape. In the water, Aphrodite released a ribbon, which tied the tail of little Eros. In this way, he would not run away. Later, to commemorate this event, Athena, the goddess of wisdom, promoted the incarnation of the mother and the son to heaven and became Pisces.

In astronomy, Pisces is a more important constellation, because the vernal equinox is at the tail of Pisces. There are many binary stars in Pisces, but they are relatively dark. You must use a small telescope to observe them. Pisces α is a binary star with an orbital period of 930 years. The magnitude of its two children are 4.33 and 5.23, respectively, with a distance of 1.8 ". ψ Pisces is a pair of distant binary stars. The brightness of the two stars is equal to 5 and the distance is 30 ″. Pisces TX is an irregular variable star with magnitude varying from 5.5 to 6. From the perspective of sky observation, Pisces belongs to the Autumn constellation. In the autumn night sky, readers may try to find this beautiful and legendary zodiac constellation.

Pisces has a merging galaxy, NGC 520, about 100 million light-years away from us, which is the product of the merging of two spiral galaxies about 300 million years ago. It's an example of an intermediate stage in the merging process: the disks of two galaxies collide and merge, but their cores haven't yet merged. It is characterized by a star tail and an oblique jump across the center of the image, blocking the galaxy's prominent dust line. NGC 520 is one of the brightest galaxies in the sky. You can see it with a small telescope. It looks like a comet. CG 436-030 is a remarkable spiral galaxy in Pisces, about 400 million light-years away from the earth. It has a very obvious curly tail. The companion star system at the bottom right of the image shows a complex structure, including several tails extending far away from the core. The bright stars between the two galaxies do not belong to this interacting system, but to our galaxy.
