500 SP Delegation Challenge- 55 word creative story

in contest •  7 years ago  (edited)

I'm awarding the last delegation challenge to Rhondak and jasonbu. It's a tough call because they were up against illuminatus and ajala. Both stories are quite compelling. Both stories got a fair amount of votes, and both had communities behind them. I want to see the African and Nigerian communities taking off. I want to see the fiction writers work getting out there. It's a difficult decision. Ultimately I decided to look at level of communication within PALnet as the decider.

and

So, congrats Rho and Jason. You two are each getting 250 Steem Delegating to you.

Next Challenge

55 word story fiction writing contest. Needs a beginning, a middle, and and end. Has to have a hook. If you can work crypto anything into the story you'll get a bonus in the scoring. Basic rules are I will narrow down my plan to the top 2-3 posts by vote count and vote total. Then I'll look at them. The winner will be the one that has the coolest concept, biggest twist, or if one mentions cryptos and the others don't. In the event of a tie winner goes to the more active member of the PAL Discord community.

You can make a post adn link to the comments or you can type your story in there directly.

The Marauder's Curse shuddered through a tight three sixty turn, the old girl creaking in defiance.

"Ready photons, await my signal." Barked Zain.

Without reply, Swelker prepared the ordnance.

"Steady, steady--Now!"

With four quick thoomps, they hurtled toward their foes, obliterated within seconds.

"Man, I love this game. Easiest crypto we ever earned."

Here's my entry. Exactly 55 words.

Good luck everyone!

I started sweating,
It was my first time on deepweb.

Is that a human chopped off into pieces?

The counter said 0.25 bitcoins for gauging out the eyes.
I typed “Stop, Or I will report this”

There was silence in the chat box

Suddenly My laptop flashed the message

“DON’T, OR YOU WILL BE NEXT”

the photo surely can relate to the story ....

All I wanted was to hang around her and have some fun.

But she was a serious kind.

I looked deep into her eyes and said “Love you, dear” .

"I like the way you lie", she said and walked away.

As she was walking away, I heard the words “But still I love you”.

"Get down Grenade!"
THUMP! silence, stares...
"woah bro...you good??"
more silence..."You just body slammed a yoyo. Here, lemme help you up"
"oh, thanks" he replied stammering "soooorrrrryyy everyonnneee, damn flashbacks, getting off these pills...fucking war"
"Here, try this" the owner said

Link to entry on my blog: https://steemit.com/contest/@sandzat/aggroed-s-book

Aggroed's Book

The book landed squarely on her head, making her see stars for a second. It was titled 'A Guide to Crypto Abundance' by Aggroed.

“I see you have Aggroed's book. Excellent choice. Even turned me around!” said a gruff voice behind her at the book store. She turned to see Warren Buffet!

Nice twist!

Thank you @geke! :)

Thank you @aggroed for this :D it made me think about a short fiction about Satoshi nakamoto

He was a kind man,who lived honest life but
Fate was unkind . more than cancer the corrupt regime and schemes killed him. for that he implanted an idea about decentralized currency with more transparency so that his future generations can live freely. He may have died but left a legacy as he intended to be..

A room 10 levels up, is this where I’m going to die? Digital coin in hand, I told myself I just wanted to see the world change for the better. I stood out on the balcony and looked across the cityscape. Neon and blood, was seen. In that moment, I let go, I had failed.

My entry:

Chain-Hack: 55 Word Story Contest Entry

Managed to get exactly 55 words for the story.

Good luck everyone!

".... son, I worked 30 years to have a decent retirement" said the dad

  • I have invested in crypto-coins and I have a good portfolio, Dad

"What is it, son?"

  • New economy, dad, digital economy. In 8 more years I will be able to rest and keep making money.

"I want to invest”

It was the future. Full, of people living in the past.
Fear was a marketing tool to manipulate shells into new shells.
Hypnotized into mass hypocrisy, the age of the ego arrived.
Our terror came when we realized we did it to ourselves.
The answer came, when we became us.
Together sailing, crypto current sea.

Its a good initiative, i will try to win . thanks @aggroed

Congratulations @rhondak and @jasonbu!

Here is my entry for the 55 word creative writing contest:

Cliff Jump:

From the cliff fence he watches as they stream across the edge: some dauntless, legs whirling, cartoonlike; some teetering on the brink, eyes closed and noses held. Clutching charts, waving flags, armed with faith alone. Will the fickle sea claim them? Or raise them up again, to drive home, whooping; lemmings in Lamborghinis?

i have written some flash fiction before, i think the limit was 300 words. 55 words, that seems immensely short

Congrats to @rhondak and @jasonbu!!! yay!

Are there any specific tags we need to use @aggroed?

I've got something written, want to make sure I post it properly though.

Nope. Just link to comments

I am one of the winners of your previous challenge and i am still very thankful sir. You are huge blessing to minnow. May God continue to bless you in no small measure.

Very interesting, never heard of 55 words stories before. You made me look it up :D

Great challenge, I love the support you show for this community!

My entry. Smiling and my greatest fantasy.

“What are these numbers? Digital wallet?”
The soldier slammed John’s diary on the table.
“We know you have money. He leaned right into John’s face. “But these numbers don’t work.”
John smiled. He mixed up the numbers.
“It’s just doodles.” They couldn’t hold him. Island life would be great, once he cashed in his crypto.

I clutched her body against my chest, her chubby arm loose at my side, her head tipped back, blue lips parted toward the ceiling.

Death stared at us from his seat at the table, then he slowly rose.

"No!" I screamed as he pulled her small lifeless body from my arms.

"You came for me!"

Sade had my heart and ripped it to shreds. “Why?” I asked. “Because you’re broke.” she said. I was determined to change my situation for her. A friend later invited me to learn about crypto “Learn to earn” he said. He learnt and I didn’t. Now he’s dating Sade and we are no longer friends.

best of luck

Just wanted to thank you for the great work you are doing. It really helps keep the ecosystem alive. I know that with efforts like these, content creators will be nurtured and sustained.

Take care.

After furious clicks, I was up 150%. Profit booked in Monero, one of the top cryptos.

I told my wife I had just made a bunch of money.

"You always find a crooked way to do that."

That was the most cryptic thing I heard, about trading cryptos.

I'll see some of you at the finish line :)

hi plz vote me and i vote u .and make world happy

I realized my phone wasn't in my pocket.
I tried to find it around; I used my friend's phone to call mine.
After a ring someone answered, gave out a scary giggle and hung up.
They didn't answer again. I eventually went home.
I found my phone lying on my bed, right where I left it.

While cultures grow and behave like vultures, their need turns to greed.

Hate and fear is the gear to destroy all hope.

New light is raising, while priests are praising new gods.

Crypto the call them, gambling and scrambling, the wish for new worlds.

As need turns to greed like mankind, it´s deemed to decay.
