It is probably not a perfect movie, of that enviable roundness that 'The Empire Strikes Back'. Come on, probably not, sure. Wants to be the total movie of 'Star Wars'

There is an enormous amount of pictorial details, typical of an artist's eye rather than an artisan's eye.

One question that confuses viewers is what plans Darth Vader, Kylo Ren, the new villain will do

I loved the three original movies, the other three where just "normal" films, they did not have the "magic" of the first original films.

Disney's take over has actually improved the films a bit, they try to create a generic kind of original star wars feeling, the "magic" is kind of there, but it is not as strong...

Comment, I do.

I'm a big fan, I LOVE the oroginal trilogy, the only thing i like from disney are the side stories, i loved Rogue One and Solo. Now i'm waiting for Clone Wars to come back :)

Yep, don't know anything about these. I pick next Darth Vader. 👍

I really believe that they lost their original essence, but I like them.

congratulations to the winners

I am not really a fan now.. Last time yes, haven't watch the latest movie. But husband said it is good. Will give it a try

I think the new Star Wars movies are ok, but I haven't really found the plot to be gripping. Especially with the last movie, I spent most of it asking myself why I was watching it. I really didn't know. You can tell they're just making the movies because they want to make money, not because they have a story to tell.

I'm not a fan of Star wars but I've seen several of his movies ... I'm going with Kylo Ren will be the next Darth Vader not something tells me that something extraordinary can happen

Im not a fan, but i hope to see the work that disney did

Yes. Star Wars fan.
Disney did an amazing job. I love them. They are better than episodes 1, 2, and 3.
KyloRen is a loser. He will never be Darth Vader.

If you've seen "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," you might have left a few questions.

I have mixed feelings, the last Jedi felt like one long car chase. In the end most of the rebels survive, but did anything really happen except Rai getting 5 minutes of Jedi training? Also why did the Jedi keep the sacred books for thousands of years if it was ok to burn them.
Why keep them in the first place? Either they are important or they are not! (end of rant)

I read a lot of the extended universe books and all those stories were way better. I wish they had taken from the extended universe instead of killing it.

Yes, sometimes a big budget does not a great movie make.

Throughout the film Ren often expresses his desire to be evil like his grandfather, Darth Vader, and he seems to idolize the dark master - even though Darth Vader (spoiler alert!) Becomes good at the end of Episode VI.

Good job..
Congrats to the winners

When Emperor Palpatine tried to kill Luke Skywalker, Vader intervened to save his son's life and was seriously injured

It is complicated to have 'Star Wars' mania, as a concept, for a series of questions that, no matter how much you want to be cantankerous, are indisputable. First, who can deny that it has made a relatively complicated subgenre within science fiction accessible to the mass public (agree, not so much as cyberpunk, but from itself more complex than extraterrestrial invasions) as is the space-opera . That then that overcrowding has brought its own problems, all agree, but the scope and impact are indisputable, for better or for worse.

Does Kylo Ren not know what happened between Luke, the emperor and Vader? Or did he realize and only idolize the dark side of his grandfather?

He might not know but I'm thinking maybe his IQ of 80 is hindering his growth. Or could be looking like Marilyn Manson and the whole empire snickering behind his back.

the scope of 'Star Wars', his easy epic, his vision of a war of cosmic scope as a succession of spectacular battles without violence, his mysticism of walking around the house, his sentimentality that works almost like deus ex machina, his embrace of topics and the hero's travels, his adorable creatures to the hives, and their expository simplicity can be repellent to me and the devotees of hard-line science fiction. But that is exactly what has made 'Star Wars' a milestone of its current size. Defects or virtues, is what defines the series.

This film may not answer those questions, but the book adaptation from the film, which Disney / Lucasfilm must sign before being published, is more conclusive

i think the story of previous is better but the graphics for today is wonderful, so maybe i'll choose the new one

In the film's novelization, written by Alan Dean Foster, it was revealed that both Kylo Ren and Supreme Leader Snoke knew the truth about what had happened between Palpatine and Vader in Death Star.

In Star Wars, The Last Jedi, Kylo Ren acts as one of the main keys to the films produced by Disney and Lucasfilm. In addition, Kylo was also told that he wanted to continue the throne of Darth Vader, the former antogonist of the Star Wars film, as a vicious leader.

Darth Vader was born to a poor family with the real name Anakin Skywalker. He grew and developed as one of the young slaves on the middle of nowhere called Tatooine

Ben became evil after his heart was mastered by the dark side of force with Supreme Leader Snoke as the mastermind.

Thank you @bunnypuncher, you have saved my bacon and hopefully stopped me being pushed out of the top ten redfish league run by @paulag. As for Star Wars I have watched all of them including the Disney productions and I have to say if 'Bad Lip Reading' on YouTube can give the characters Rey and Kylo Ren more believable personalities and motivations in five minutes than the movies can do in a couple of hours there is something wrong. Visually I have loved all the Disney productions. Plotwise I have loathed every Disney production in the Star Wars universe. They have shown themselves to be unimaginative and with no care at all for the collective Star Wars universe. There was no need to stomp on the triumphs of Luke and Leia. Star Trek reboot has shown us that a simple remake would have been welcomed. We didn't need an impossible New Order to have risen from the ashes to crush the universe once more. Where did they get the money? The resources? The time and facilities to train soldiers? Are we to believe that all this was possible in the ~30 something years that have passed since the last movie? Not to mention that they don't allow Rey to have any backstory or personality other than surprised competence.

Glad I could be of help.

good, Disturbance in the Force: why is Star Wars trying to make us hate Luke Skywalker

In The Last Jedi trailer, Luke Skywalker seems to have completely lost his faith. This is not the version of our favourite Jedi that anyone asked for

Hollywood loves a fallen hero. From Christian Bale’s broken Batman in The Dark Knight Rises to Daniel Craig’s wasted James Bond in Skyfall, there is something about the sight of a once-titanic figure laid low that inspires and enthuses film-makers.

As our heroes drink themselves into oblivion, or drown in self-pity, we are reminded of the contrast with their better, truer former selves. The stage is set, inevitably, for sudden and radical rehabilitation – why allow Bane to break Batman’s back if not to allow Gotham’s dark knight the sweetest of subsequent revenge? Why show 007 so ravaged by drink that he cannot hold his Walther PPK, unless it is merely a blip on a predictable path back to insouciant business as usual?

Ever since the debut teaser for Star Wars: The Last Jedi hit the web back in April, there have been hints that Rian Johnson is trying something similar with Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker in the forthcoming space opera sequel. Here we have the untouchable hero of the original Star Wars trilogy, the guy who introduced most of us to the concept of magic space priests and dinky laser swords in the first place, warning that he knows “only one truth – it is time for the Jedi to end”.

confirms suspicions that Johnson is determined to reinvent Luke as something of a sad sack in the new instalment. Daisy Ridley, whose Force-sensitive scavenger Rey was last seen handing a lightsaber to a disbelieving Skywalker at the end of 2015’s The Force Awakens, describes the Jedi master as a

“grumpy guy on an island who doesn’t want me here,” while the magazine itself warns that the Luke is a “broken man” who “would have preferred to stay lost”.

Hamill himself is not without his reservations about this tricky character ar

“The fact that Luke says, ‘I only know one truth. It’s time for the Jedi to end…’ I mean, that’s a pretty amazing statement for someone who was the symbol of hope and optimism in the original films,” he tells EW, adding:

When I first read it, my jaw dropped. What would make someone that alienated from his original convictions? That’s not something that you can just make up in an afternoon, and I really struggled with this thing

It’s not hard to imagine where Johnson is going with all this. Star Wars fans are desperate to see Luke back in action, taking up his rightful place at the heart of the Resistance alongside Leia

Oscar Isaac’s Poe Dameron, Rey, Finn et al. However, it can’t be as simple as just turning up on Ahch-To and speeding away five minutes later with Luke in his rightful place on board the Millennium Falcon, reminiscing about the time Vader chopped his hand off and losing at monster holo-chess to Chewbacca.

A deeper understanding of Skywalker’s journey into misery is required if we are to believe that he’s capable of getting back on his feet and blowing up a Death Star or two.

We have a fairly good idea why Luke exiled himself on Ahch-To in the first place: Kylo Ren, who Hamill suggests Skywalker believed was a new “chosen one”, murdered his mentor’s trainees and flounced off to join the Dark Side. Yet this is Luke Skywalker we are talking about, who witnessed his own surrogate parents burnt to a crisp at the outset of 1977’s Star Wars and barely blinked an eye. There must be something more here to Skywalker’s descent into despair.

Why did Luke fail to go after Ren; to put right his mistake? As the more experienced Jedi, it might be that he is the only being in the galaxy capable of taking down the whingey Vader wannabe.

Might this discovery reveal why Yoda and the Jedi council failed to spot that Anakin was a wrong’un in the god-awful prequels, despite the young padawan’s moody emo tendencies and penchant for cold-blooded massacre making it rather obvious to the rest of us that he wasn’t exactly space priest material

Even if Luke has decided the Jedi faith needs its own religious restructuring before the First Order can be defeated, why has he not begun the process of setting about that work? Instead, he seems content to sit on a rock and mope beside a bunch of birds and alien nuns (it turns out the Porgs are not Ahch-To’s only indigenous species).

Hope has always been the catalyst for change in Star Wars, yet it seems that the saga’s greatest emblem of faith in a better future is currently completely bereft of it.

This, it seems, is the mystery that Rey will be charged with unravelling. Until she does, we’ll be stuck with a version of Luke that nobody ever asked for, let alone expected to receive. Let’s hope our young hero gets to the bottom of the Jedi master’s funk as quickly as possible.

There’s nothing wrong with challenging an iconic character in radical new ways. But this all-new, all-grumpy Jedi-hating version of Luke Skywalker could get pretty old, pretty quickly if he’s allowed to hang around too long.

we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading the Guardian’s independent, investigative journalism than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. And unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

The Guardian is editorially independent, meaning we set our own agenda. Our journalism is free from commercial bias and not influenced by billionaire owners, politicians or shareholders.

No one edits our Editor. No one steers our opinion. This is important because it enables us to give a voice to the voiceless, challenge the powerful and hold them to account.

It’s what makes us different to so many others in the media, at a time when factual, honest reporting is critical.

If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps to support it, our future would be much more secure.

As millions of people flock to see The Last Jedi, it’s time to admit it: Star Wars just isn’t that good any more.

Yes, I know there’s a current trend to go all hipstery and criticize anything popular. “I’m tired of comic book shows and movies.” “The latest iPhone is a joke.” “Doctor Who isn’t as good as when David Tennant was in it.” That attitude annoys me, and I normally avoid doing it. But when it comes to Star Wars, I feel it’s justified.

Star Wars is one of the biggest franchises in the world — and it simply shouldn’t be. You, loyal fans, deserve much better.

There was naturally a lot of excitement when it was announced that Star Wars would be coming back. George Lucas wouldn’t return with the franchise, but on balance, most people felt that was actually a good thing, especially after the shambles of Episodes 1 to 3.

Yet Lucas’s revelation about why he quit the brand tells us a lot about this latest iteration. He disagreed with Disney’s vision that it should be “for the fans.” He wasn’t wrong. The Force Awakens and Rogue One were definitely for the fans. And that is an appalling storytelling strategy.

Star Wars fan films tell some of the best stories in the entire Star Wars universe. Fellow fans of the space opera will love these 10 short films available to watch on YouTube.

Star Wars has become an insular franchise that relies heavily on its past — so much so, it has revisited A New Hope by expanding on how the Death Star plans were obtained. Its next outing is a solo film about Han, something no one really asked for. It will, however, be lapped up by the fans.

Now, you might not consider this a problem because a lot of people have watched the prequels; even more have enjoyed the original trilogy. It’s not stretching the imagination. It’s not challenging the old audience or encouraging newcomers. It’s not exploring new depths. It’s just more of the same old Star Wars.

When a film is considered good because it’s the latest installment in a franchise, its individual narrative has failed.

We may forgive The Force Awakens now, enthusiastic about the movies being back, but in the future that film will be seen as an unnecessary retread of the same story.

You know the argument, but you know it because so many people have spotted it: The Force Awakens is A New Hope.

The circle turns. But that’s boiling down plots to their core elements: the interesting bits are the embellishments on top. Star Wars‘s recent embellishments are disappointing at best.

Okay, so no storytelling is new. It’s almost always variations on a theme. We can look to William Shakespeare to see the same patterns repeated on our TV screens, on the printed page, and in our movie theaters. The circle turns

Darth vader

Practicing with Luke and Snoke makes Kylo transform into a reliable super villain. His ability to play lightsaber is great, as is his ability to manipulate force.

IM NOT A FAN BUT I DID WATCHED IT.. I WAS DISAPPOINTED AT THE FACE OF THE VILLAIN.. IT LACKS THE CHARACTER---> THE SCARY LOOK THAT ALWAYS HAUNTS ME IN MY DREAMS (THAT I DID NOT HAVE WITH HIM). SORRY THAT IS JUST ME DONT HATE ME...

I liked the original sagas of Star Wars. The new Disney ones are fine but not like the originals.

Grand Moff Tarkin, the person in charge of the Death Star project created by Vader also acknowledged how to lead Vader who was full of authority and greatness. He is even proud to work with Vader.

An amazing new report illustrates the concept of art for a scene that has the potential to surprise and delight fans with Klyo Ren, Darth Vader AND Anakin.

The first six films are about his fall and redemption, he is an integral part of a franchise like Luke and cannot be ignored. This will tie the three trilogies together.

DARTH VADER remains the heart of Star Wars and The Last Jedi as its helmet and lightsaber form a battle between Rey, Luke and Kylo Ren.

Random comment :-)

The troubled Knight of Ren was seen praying to his grandfather's helmet in the seventh film in the story.

There has been considerable speculation that Hayden Christensen as a ghost of the Force Anakin will be back in The Last Jedi but what about his alter ego, Darth Vader?

An innovative decision from Star Wars founder George Lucas to submit the continuation of the Star Wars story to today's generation, Lucas might consider his Star Wars era difficult to re-implement in today's era which has developed very fast.

Is it true that Kylo Ren is the successor to the iconic Darth Vader?

Darth Vader who lost the duel with his son suddenly became the real father figure, returned to the right path and immediately the Jedi Power was restored.

Strong Force users like Kylo must also be able to see the past and receive messages from Force ghosts, good or bad.

Star Wars expert Mike Zeroh believes that Supreme Leader Snoke encouraged Kylo to look for the Force's vision from the Dark Side by touching the helmet.

I really appreciate and commend your works on steemit @bunnypuncher.
The SBD you are donating has really helped so many.
Thanks for your kindness.
I hope I'll luckily win some of your SBD someday.
Keep up the good work.

The use of the Force shows the past and the present, so both versions, Anakin and Darth Vader, can be accessed by powerful talismans.

The view of Darth Vader's tangled helmet on The Force Awakens is one of the most horrible and heartbreaking film images.

It always felt that Anakin worshiped Vader without knowing the full story of Anakin's fall.
