I'm making this a interactive story-contest. It's simple: I present you with different choices of how this story should continue. Everyday I will write a new chapter which will be based on one of the different choices. If you choose right you will advance in the story line. If you choose wrong you'll loose and that will be the end of your story. The last chapter will become a showdown of some sort between the last survivors of these series. The winner takes first prize.

The whole world seemed to be going apeshit about this flu while the boys partied hard.

Chapter two: The Arrival

The girls told them how their parents wanted them to come home right away and they took a flight from Australia to Thailand as this was the fasted one to reach their destination. They seemed to be well informed about this flu as they told the guys more about it. Since the guys had left for the bachelor party none of them were connected to the "outside" world as they all handed over their mobile phones to Danny. And all hell broke loose in the meantime.

The girls told them about the first clear signs of infection;
"The infection comes as the normal flu with sweating, nausea and throwing up. That's all we know so far. The infected later turn crazy and attack other people. It's worlwide and constantly on the news."

Nixon turned around to take a look at Danny who seemed to be quite okay. He walked to him and asked him how he felt;
"I feel like I have been hit by a train. Those hookers last night were too much. Outside one of them even tried to bite me for God's sake." Nixon looked at Danny and remembered what he had witnessed a few hours prior.
"The passengers from that other flight tried to bite the rescuers too. Could that be due to that flu? Or was it a drill anyway?" He wondered.

The crew decided to disconnect all the communication on board except the entertainment systems. They did not want any form of panic on board as that would be extremely stressfull at this altitude. So they cut off everything and blamed it to a technical defect.

The last thirty minutes set in as the plane approached Portland sometimes the passengers could see strange things occuring. Highways were clutched and filled with traffic, mostly out of cities. There was also alot of smoke to be seen. Sometimes right below them, other times in the distance. Alltogether a strange and creepy sight which left the passengers wondering. Meanwhile the captain tried to get in contact with the tower without success. The connection went down a few ago and never came back up. Other planes they were radioing with had the same problem so noone knew what was going on down there.

The captain decided to take his chances and set course for the runway as he did countless times before. He was an experienced captain with some years of experience so he did know what to do. They'd figure out what was wrong on the ground after they'd land anyway. In the meantime he kept radioing that they were headed for Portland Airport. Might be that they could not receive messages but groundcontrol could receive them nonetheless.

The captain started descending as he approached the airport. Just a few minutes left now. He instructed his crew to take pre-cautions as it was not a regular landing. So the stewards instructed the passengers to fasten their seatbelts and to prepare for a "rough" landing. Nothing out of the ordinairy, just a pre-caution. The crew was frightened themselves but could ot show any signs of distress to the passengers.

The group of bachelors prepared for the landing but kept looking outside. Jack's home was just an hour drive from the airport so he would be seeing his fiancee very soon. And the wedding was planned for the next day so he was on time. He even could get some sleep before the preparations started.

Touchdown

The tires of the plane started making that sounds you hear when the rubber tires hits the concrete. They landed but the captain was very unsettled. There was absolutely no movement to be detected at the airport. No planes moving around and the luggage handlers were nowhere to be seen. As soon as the plane came to a stop at the supossed station he took out his mobile phone to call the tower. No service. He tried to call his wife. No service. The whole network was down.

And still no movement. If this would continue like this they would have to use the emergency exit. After a few minutes of contemplating with the crew they decided to send one of the crew out via the ladder that can be accessed via the cockpit.

The engineer took the responsibilty and slowly climbed down the ladder. He looked around and walked through a hangar door inside the terminal. He should be away a few minutes but after ten minutes he still did not return. The captain now decided to take look for himself. Meanwhile the passengers got anxious to finally leave the plane. Danny couldn't hold it together anymore and opened the emergency exit. The big yellow inflatable slide popped out and the the first ones jumped down.

The bachelors took the lead and were among the first to touch down. Meanwhile the captain hurried down the ladder and walked towards the group to at least keep them together. Hundred passengers all nervous to go home but did not know what to expect on the other side of the hangar doors. The captain took the lead and walked throught the door. They came in a large terminal which showed signs of a big struggle of some sorts. Clothes, luggage and personal items all scattered around.
