Thanks for asking @littlescribe! It is a $0.05 upvote that we at #newbieresteemday have been giving as incentives to the newbies to get them to participate and "engage"...
We are focusing hard on giving them ways to use steemit that are fun and they can earn a little too (since many newbies don't even get $0.05 on their posts). It helps the gamemakers too because they get new players all the time...
The concept is also that the older steemians can help in a limited but very useful way by using their sliders to support the games too. any time!!! I think this is an effective way to make connections and to attract interest!!! Plus if we can work together to support each other it would leverage all of us... mudcat is getting newbiegames and sometime in the next few weeks we will have a portal to be that coordination hub.
I love the newbie nickel ... its also something that the larger steemians can help with and an easy way they can help too. I think it could be the bridge between the newbie world and at least the dolphins (maybe higher).
