My Favorite Indoor Game - MTF #14

Hello friends. I hope that you're doing well :)

This post is is response to a weekly contest, My Thursday Favorites, done by @marblely, for the #ccc community and anyone else who wants to join. Here you can find details about the contest, if you'd like to enter yourself : https://steemit.com/actifit/@marblely/actifit-marblely-20190314t145304261z

My favorite indoor game, at least currently, would have to be Final Fantasy XIV. It’s really fun, and like most MMO’s, has an incredible amount of content. I think one of the biggest reasons I am enjoying it so much is that I am playing online with my brother-in-law and a friend. Having that connection while in different continents is nice. I feel like I will be able to put a ton of time into this game, the only issue is that it’s got a monthly subscription. I’ll likely figure out how to afford that in the future, but it is a little worrying for the moment. One of my other favorite video games would be the Borderland’s series. I don’t know, but the loot system in that game is incredibly appealing, and I really like both the combat system and the art style. I am looking forward to number 3, I may have to try to find a PS4 so I can play it.

If I had to pick another indoor game that was not a video game, I would have to say that my favorite board game is Tsuro.

It’s this really simple game that I have played a ton of times with my family, but there’s a decent amount of strategy, and it has a relatively fast turn around so losing doesn’t really matter too much. You basically just put down tiles to make a continuous path until you run into another player's’ piece or go off the board. Like I said, simple, but really fun. You can find more information about it here if you’re interested. Here is the game’s main website.

If I had to pick a favorite card game, it would be The Ultimate Showdown. I just love the creative nature of the game.

Basically, you draw cards from your stack, and come up with powers or abilities based on the character image to best your opponent. You can play with up to 10 people apparently, which I have to imagine would develop some crazy stuff. You can debate with people about how outcomes would turn out, and it just becomes this awesome “Who would win in a fight?” kind of scenario. I haven’t played this in years, as it’s my brother-in-law’s game but my sister dislikes it, but would highly recommend it. You can find more info here.

Until next time,

Namaste

Aaahh...Final Fantasy XIV.. I have been hearing about it from the guys :) And it is so cool that you get to play with your family in different continents! The power of online games :)
Tsuro and The Ultimate Showdown looks very intriguing too. Gosh, you guys just triggered my curiosity with all these interesting sounding games. All I was playing was PacMan and Tetris and Wii and Nintendo and Monopoly, Chinese Checkers and Snake and Ladder :D

If you like MMO's, it is definitely one of the better ones.

It is quite nice. We also pretty regularly play Super Smash Bros. Online interactions definitely makes staying in touch easier.

I'm glad you like them. You might check in your area if there is a board game store. Some of them back home have playable games, where you can go in with friends and play games. You could try them out then. Maybe not ultimate showdown, that one is unfortunately quite rare.

Ultimate showdown looks really interesting! I'm going to see if I can get it easily in Europe!

It says free shipping on all purchases, but not to where. I have to imagine that's not a global promise.
