COMBINATION PHOTOGRAPHY WEEK 14 - YOUR CHANCE TO WIN!

in contest •  7 years ago

Let Week 14 begin!

Yes, @papa-pepper really enjoys plants and animals, so what better photography contest could I run than one where you get to photograph plants and animals together, in some combination photography?

EXAMPLES

Before I get into who won the contest last week, I’ll quickly share with you again what I am looking for by featuring some photos of mine. In the cover photo, I combined a speckled kingsnake with some grass, with the kingsnake being the animal and the grass being the plant. See, both a plant and an animal were in the photo.

Please understand, by combination photography I mean that you should combine two elements; plants and animals. At least one plant and at least one animal should be featured in your photo to have it qualify. If your photo does not qualify, or if you do not provide the proof, you will not qualify. Here are two examples.

Cottontail Rabbit with Plantain Plant

Dobsonfly on Oak Tree

Besides simply providing the images, I also require that those entering this contest provide a proof photo as well. Two main versions of proof photos exist. One kind features the same combination of plants & animals with a written paper in the photo with your username, the date, contest name, etc. to prove that you took the photo for the contest.

The other type of proof is just a selfie with the animal and plant. Here are my examples for the photos featured above.

Based on the proof photos there should be no doubt in your mind that I actually took the photos I shared above.

WEEK 13 WINNERS!

Choosing the winners is always tough for me, but I have finally made my decisions. The Winner gets 50% of the liquid post payout from the Week Thirteen Post and the two runner ups each get 12.5% of the same, which is pretty good considering teh high SBD value right now.

THE WINNER

@squishysquid

15.727 SBD

FIRST RUNNER UP

@julietravel

7.863 SBD

SECOND RUNNER UP

@grace44

7.863 SBD

There were so many excellent entries once again. I love that this contest allows me to catch a glimpse of your local flora and fauna. Also, though the official way to enter this contest is by including your entry photo and the proof photo in a reply to my post, I strongly encourage others to make an actual post featuring their entry as well.

Even if you do not win the contest, you could still get something for your effort if you turn it into a post as well. @Matthewtiii once hit the jackpot on a post about his contest entry. His post paid out at over $200 total while he has trying to win 5 STEEM, LOL! Link here.

ON TO WEEK 14!

By now you should have a clue about what this contest is and how to enter, but here are the official rules just to make sure. Enjoy, and I am looking forward to seeing what you can come up with.

HERE ARE THE OFFICIAL RULES:

  • Photo entries must be placed in the reply/comment section of this post.
  • Submissions may also be made into posts, but it is not necessary.
  • A proof photo will also be required. This can be in the form of a selfie with the subjects from the photos or in the form of your username written on a piece of paper in a photo, etc. Basically, you must prove the originality of your work. Therefore, your entry comment should include two photos.
  • Users have between now and the time of the post payout to enter this contest.
  • I will personally select one winner to award half of the liquid SBD payout from this post to and two runner ups who will each get 25% of the same.
  • Enter as many times as you like!
  • Depending on the interest in this contest, I may have it be ongoing.
  • By entering you are giving me full permission to use your entries as I see fit.

IMPORTANT: Please make sure to include both your entry photo and proof photo in your reply.

TL;DR

If you reply to this post with a photo of a plant and animal together and include a proof photo before the post payout from this post, you may win a portion of the post payout.

LET THE 13TH WEEK OF THE CONTEST BEGIN!!!

As always, I'm @papa-pepper and here's the proof:

Might you like this @papa-pepper

nice photograph,,, every picture was really amazing,,,, but i was little bit scared after seen snake picture..... I don't like snake... Because snake already gave me huge shocked moment in my life.. Ten years ago, snake has killed my elder sister.. From that day i hate snake from my heart.. So dear friend always try to stay far way from snake... Don't trust and play with snakes... its really dangerous for humans life.......

Im sorry you didnt like the snake! The purpose of that picture was definitely NOT to scare anyone. I am very sorry to hear what happened to your sister. My condolences. I understand the reason for your negative outlook on snakes.
This particular snake is not dangerous in the least. It is a kenyan sand boa, non venomous, and is the pet of a seven year old boy, my son. He dearly loves his 'Lava Rock', and asks me periodically to do photo shoots of her. She is a very calm snake, and easy to take pictures of, as she is not very squirmy or active.
hugs

ohhh my God ,,, But its still unbelievable for me to trust... Anyhow please stay safe from snake...

I have a fear of snakes, yes, I know that they usually do not attack if they do not feel attacked. So when I walk through the woods I'm afraid to step on some and she feels attacked! it is not my intention.
I love the sweet look of the monkey of @julietravel.

Thanks again!

FYI - That SBD in your wallet is worth A LOT right now. Currently trading at over $12 on Bittrex right now, so yours is worth over $200 at the moment. It is a great time to sell it for STEEM to power up or to cash it out if you need the money.

Wow!! Thanks for the tip! How cool is that?!
I am very new to Steemit and am still figuring all this out.
I really enjoy your posts, by the way. I came here on the recommendation of An American Homestead, an you don't disappoint!

...The proof of my entry

Here's my entry for the contest..........
and my proof...

People who are kind to animals are people with good hearts! Like you, sir.

You do know that there are a few animals that I do eat, right? Some say that is not so kind....

Well, I'd like to think that they sacrificed their lives so that we may live!

One more day at work then back to the homestead. I will be in this one.

Glad to hear it!

This is my submit to this week 14

Good luck to everyone who entered, and hopefully this contest will continue, because I would like to try again!
Great motivation to work on my photography. :D

I know @papa-pepper loves chameleons, so I thought you'd enjoy this teeny, tiny newborn cape dwarf chameleon on agapanthus. You can see how small he is in the proof pic where he sits on my hand.
