Whats up Steemians? 🤗
How time flies so fast, its almost the end of May. Summer's ending soon, and I haven't got the chance to enjoy the beach yet. Though we were in Camotes Island last month, it wasn't really as relaxing as we hope it would be. And until now I still wasn't able to make a travel post about it. Hahaha. Why am I so busssssyyyy. Huhu.
I need this. How lovely it is to just lay there, and just do nothing. You have all day to savor this beauty, and forget about the hustle and bustle of our everyday life.
By the way, photo was taken in Digyo Island, one of the four islands of the famous Cuatros Islas of Leyte. Eastern Visayas really has a lot of things to offer. If you ever plan to visit our region, don't hesitate to contact me, I'd love to show you around. 😉
Okay, let's get to the contest. Hehe. I know, there a lot of delays since I started the contest, and though I'm trying my best to post weekly, but my best wasn't good enough. Hehe. So.. bear with me guys. 😂 Thank you for your usual understanding and I really appreciate your patience. Without further ado, I present to you the compilation of the inspiring stories for Make A Difference Round #7.

I've got 9 wonderful entries. Yaaay! 🤗 Your stories makes my heart swell with so much joy and gratitude every time. I hope I can reward you more.
I made the rules simple so it won't be a hassle on your part to make entries. It wasn't necessary to include photos, or make it too long. But here you are, writing detailed stories with wonderful photos, and that greatly overwhelms me. I am sincerely grateful to all of you. I'm so dramatic I know, but I just appreciate your stories so much and its really inspiring to read those little acts of kindness that's making a difference in the lives of other people. I feel so honored to compile these, and I hope your stories touch so many hearts that they will be motivated to choose to do selfless acts and help create a better world. 💚
MAKE A DIFFERENCE • Round #8
Again, there is no limit. You can join over and over again as long as your reputation is still below 55. This is my way of helping Steemians who are still new. I know how hard it is to get noticed, and build up your account. The "struggle is real" but let's just keep going. Steem is at $3 right now. When I started few months ago it was at $1. I may not be a crypto analyst, but I think Steemit is doing well.
Its 12:02AM here in the Philippines. Goodnight everyone! I'll be waiting for your entries. Keep steeming! 💚
As the saying goes--Let another person praise you, and not your own mouth; a stranger, and not your own lips.
But exceptions are always there. And here is that exceptional time to praise yourself.
God has bestowed every human being with numerous characteristics. the best characteristics of my trait being Helping Nature.
i think it's not a good practice to do a good deed and then let other people know it. Butt as the topic of today's contest demands to share one's good deed. So let me share with you a real life story which according to me does not hold a place in a list of top good deeds in my life.
About a year ago I was coming back to my hostel via public transport bus. in bus I heard a person sitting behind me talking to his parents on phone and his parents were asking him where he is going to stay as it is getting too late to get accomodation in the hotel nearby. His reply was let me see where God will take me and it moved me immedately. I realised that the person was in need and he needed some place to stay. As the time passed by his phone was ringing frequently. By the time we reached destination the chances of getting accomodation were negligible.
At that point I asked him where are you going to stay? He told me that he was going to stay in a temple nearby.
it was the month of July and there was scorching heat. I realised that this man is going to get heat stroke.
so I told him that he was going to stay with me. He started gazing at my face and immediately responded, No.
I asked, why?
I knew the reason was that we were strangers and we are living in a terrorist hit state, where no body would want to stay with an unknown person.Had i been in the same situation , my response too would have been the same.
As i insisted, he begin questioning.
Where are we going to stay?
I knew this was not the last questiin.
To Cut short the conversation and to avoid the barrage of questions, I showed him my identity card.He was convinced and agreed to stay with me.
I took him to my hostel and we had some snacks because it was too late and hostel mess was closed and then we had an oppurtunity to know each other.
I did my best to serve him and it is perhaps the result of that service, that we are now friends.
Although we never met thereafter but we talk to each other on phone whenever possible.
In my friend list, I have three friends which I met this way.
I had made helping others the fundamental principle of my life. A day passed withoit helping someome is a day wasted in gambling.

Hi @drqamranbashir. Thank you for sharing your story. ☺️ This is the first entry for Make a Difference Round #8. I was kinda sad because its been 3days and no one has submitted their stories yet, but.. here you are. Yaaay! 🤗
It was so nice of you to offer a stranger some place to stay. And now this person has become your friend. I have met people while I'm travelling, and they have become one of my closest friends until now.
I'm really happy to meet people like you here in Steemit. ☺️

Hello there and thanks for such an opportunity.
I am @hermannsol and i am 22yrs. Touched and moved by the sufferings and lack of the needy population in my community, a friend and i rallied our fellow youth friends and together we decided to for a group or community whereby each month, we pick out a date and we contribute from our pockets and pick out a needy population, or the underpriviledged community and we visti them with some items as a way to support and show our love towards them. We have visited an orphanage called MISSPA twice and it was one of the best moments of my life. Seeing those kids smile was my greatest joy and i am happy that we are atleast making a difference like that in our little way.

Lots of love.
My Entry for Round 8
There is a general canteen near to our university area. This does not belong to our university. We sometimes go there to have lunch or snacks. One day I along with one of my friend were having lunch. It was almost 4 pm. A waiter was serving us. He was a little boy aged around 12-13. I noticed that he was serving everyone very carefully. I thought he was doing his job perfectly. After finishing the meal we paid the bill. That boy came to me with the change and I told him to keep the changes as the tip. It was 10 Taka most probably. He said he did not need tips. I was very surprised with his behavior. Even after insisting 3-4 times he refused to take the money. I looked at him and saw his eyes were fluttering. Then I told him to sit in front of me and to tell his problems to me. He cried out suddenly. I was very strange. Then he said he had joined here a few days ago. For being a child of poor parents he was there to earn something to help his parents. Morning is the peak hour for the canteen. Every waiter is busy serving people quickly. And the customer's are also in rush to go to their office class or other destinations. That day morning, two plates were broken by him unconsciously at the time of serving foods. The manager then scolded him and threatened him to fire him if he does this again. And as punishment, he will not have any meal today and the price of the plates will be cut off from his salary. And all of his today's tips will also be taken. He said he was very hungry then, he said sorry 100 times to the manager but he didn't forgive him. After hearing this I ordered another meal and told him to eat this. He said his manager will beat him if he eats today. I told him not to worry I will talk to the manager. Then I told the manager that his bill is paid. I will come tomorrow if I hear you tortured him I will complain to the police. And I will call all students to break your canteen. He replied he will not say anything to the boy. I also gave him the price of the two plates.
You may ask why didn't I told the manager to behave gently with the boy. Because they are like this. No one can change them. If I say anything more maybe he will fire the boy which will cause harm to him.
He smiled at me when I was coming out from the place. That makes me feel good.

The products collected allowed 257 people to benefit. This foundation (Corazones nobles) published the photographs of the help made and they do not do it with bad intention, they publish the photos because many other people are moved and the message reaches everyone and many more people can join the cause. The next event will be to visit an nursing home and bring food to these people who are going through a serious situation as well as the people in the street. La fundación put the list of products that are needed to prepare lunches and snacks, and we only have to collaborate with some of them.

Make A Difference Contest • Round #8
When I go out from my house I always see an old man walk around near our lane and beg money to people. But he is not like other beggers. At the time of begging he become shy in shame. Sometimes I also give him some money. It's a very common scene here. People live below the poverty line and don't get a minimum job used to beg for their livelihood.
Now it is a holy month for Muslims, the Ramadan month. I didn't go out for the first two days of Ramadan because it was holidays. In the third day, I was returning home and I saw the man crying seating beside the road. I went to him and ask him what happened, why is he crying. He said because of hunger. He could not beg for the last to days and therefore he was unable to give money to his son and daughter-in-law and they didn't give him food. At this age, it is really tough for him to go here and there for begging money all day long with an empty stomach. His son is a rickshaw puller and he does not own the rickshaw. So what he gets from pulling rickshaw every day could not afford house rent and food properly. That's why he insisted his father for doing some sort of job or begging. For being old nobody gave him any job. That's why he started begging though he hates begging most.
After hearing all this I felt really bad for him. I could understand his son's condition but what he did with his father is truly rude and intolerable.
I made a decision instantly and took him with me at my house. By this time iftar(eating food to break the fast) time is near. I told him to wait here until iftar and he is my guest for today. My mom gave him a plate full of varites food and a large glass of fruit juice. He was so happy and cried out loudly. I told him to eat until his tummy is full. He ate the whole dish and thanked us many many times. Then left for his house.
The next day I searched for him and saw him a bit far from our lane. I went to him and told him to take me to his house. There I met his son. Then I told the old man in front of his son that he is invited for Iftar and Sehri for the whole month of Ramadan. And told his son to not force him to go for begging.
The son cried out and said he didn't want to do that but because of money he had to force his father.
Than I told him not to worry. I will try to mange him a rickshaw with the money of Zakat from my relatives and my family.
From then The old uncle come to our house at every eveing for iftar and sometimes at night to get food for sehri.

There's a child who was unable to attend school because his parents couldn't afford it.
I was so despondent when I learnt about it because, he is a child that is so enthusiastic about learning.
Been a lover a of education and learning, I decided to help out so the child could be a literate.
I bought book, devoted my time to teaching him.
Here's the picture of we learning 👇.
Am happy about how far we have gone.
His really learning and am proud of my efforts. He would be able to start school soon next session because have agreed to help the parents to in contributing for his school fees through the earning I get from steemit.

RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS ROUND 8-A TWIST TO IT.
I know you might be wondering why i put a twist to it, but let's keep going.
I grew up, young and naive with selfless parents who go out of their ways to help people. It was always a tradition to start a special saving in January and by December, all the saving would be used to buy food and clothes for the needy.
I came to the university, far away from my parents, all alone. I had a friend who did not have any means of paying her fees or feeding.
I took her in, shared my clothes, food and even saved to pay up her fees. People called us best friends. A year ago, i found out that she was playing on my intelligence. She made me believe she was all alone in the world and i readily took her whereas her parents were alive and sending her money to cater for her needs, she used me. I remember being miserable and paranoid, many nights i cried and wished i wasn't so stupid. I cut her out of my life, it took me so long to forgive her, but i did eventually.
THE TWIST.
I vowed i was never going to help anyone again, i entered my shell and stayed there. But trust me, "whatever you are born to be would sprout out without any help". I came out slowly starting with the little things. I am glad i saw this contest today, very glad that i could share my story.
Last two days, i had a convo with a classmate of mine and after the discussion, i realised that she was really in need. I went back home, thought a lot with pain of betrayal tugging at my chest. I even did a few research to be sure i wasn't being played, lol. Yesterday, i brought out my special savings and helped her with foodstuff and part of her fees.
I know this might not be really much, but i feel healed, i couldn't believe i would ever help anyone this much. The happiness i feel making someone else happy is indeed a great achievement and fulfillment.
I hope this contest continues, because i hope to share stories of many more random acts of kindness.
