My dog's name is Astro, and there's a really long story behind her name:)
First of all I wished to be an astronomer as a kid. Watched at the night sky, and dreamed to know all and everything about what's out there. My dream didn't come true, but my interest to stars and space stayed with me when I grew up too.
Here's me sweety. When we made a decision to adopt a dog we thought a lot about the name, but could not decide. Even at the moment when we already went to pick her up - no ideas.
And then I saw my sweety for the first time. And understood at that very moment that she really is a little star. We me and my hubby) are fans of the Big Band theory, and we began thinking... OK, Raj, Cinnamon, astrophysics... Wait, that's it! Astrophysics:) Astro? Yes, she's Astro, for sure:)
By the way I' really that close with my dog as he is:) And from the first day she appeared in our family she aced like a little star for us - supporting, bringing light and joy to our home.

Here is my sweet, wonderful baby girl Chiara in our Paris apartment during winter 2007, with my mom. She was a pedigree shih tzu. While "Chiara" is an Italian name meaning "light", our Angel was Brasilian & already had been given her name when she became part of our family in São Paulo, Brasil. She was so little & didn't really know her name yet, so we could have changed it, but decided that it suited her so perfectly already. We simply added, "da Lua" to her full name, so in Italian & Portuguese together her name meant "Light of the Moon".
She was completely charming & adorable with ever-growing soft fur. She would often prance when walking, just on instinct. She was incredibly quiet, not barking at all until she was already a year or 2 old, & then she'd only bark at something a handful of times across her entire life. But she would love to growl loudly & "ferociously" while playing with us! Her favorite toys to guard & declare, "that's MINE!" over were her baby blankets XD She would love to be bounced & massaged, followed my dad the pack leader like she was his shadow, & completely on her own instinct, would always guard my parents (especially my mom) by facing away from them in the doorway of whichever room they'd be in; if we were outdoors she'd do the same, facing away about 6 feet in front of wherever we were sitting so she could be the first to assess anyone coming toward us. She loved making people friends much more than doggy friends, of which she just had a few, because she was so dainty & would be turned off by hyper-energy dogs wanting to meet her. She wanted to keep things as chill & sweet as she was^^
Our Angel passed away just this past December 5th. In 2 more days, she would've been exactly 15 years & 1 one month old. I miss her greatly every day like my other past pets, of which she was the youngest. Our kitty Omrey (animal soulmate of my life), & 2 of our originally 5 guinea pig siblings (Sweetheart & Patch), along with Chiara, moved from country to country with my family & me, remaining completely loving to us despite the stress they endured on each move. We gave them as much love & cuddles as we could always, especially during these moves where we felt guilt over causing them airplane stress. We were so blessed to have had the piggies for 6 years (both passed away in 2005), Omrey for 19 years (passed away August 2015), & Chiara for 15 years. It feels very strange now that for the first time in 21 years, my family & I no longer have a pet. Animals are the light of my life & I'm so happy many people feel the same way. When I am ready again & have more of my life together, I very much look forward to adopting another angel<3^^

Actually she was bit by a water moccasin when she was about a year and a half and she made it praise God!

This is Lucky , We adopt it from someone that can't look after him anymore. He is very active and clever dog. We felt lucky to have him. So we called it "Lucky". Lucky like to play hide & seek, no matter where you hide he can find you. Lucky like to follow my mum to the market every morning. They walked to the market near our house. He will wait until my mum brought all the things then go home with my mum again. Every time when I get home from work he will jump to me and hug and cuddle with me. He like going out to the garden with me every evening. He is a very nice dog :)

My childhood dog was Kay. She was a german shepard mix. I named her that
as that was my brother's wife's middle name and I was only able to get her as we used her address in Fairfax County, VA. at the pound to get her. We lived in another city over one, she was the best dog ever. Very loyal. Animals are awesome! :-)

My dog's name was Lisa. An unusual name, I know, but I was 5 years old and I just thought it was pretty:) My parents tried to persuade me to go with a more conventional dog's name and they were also hoping to avoid any confusion since our neighbor's daughter was named Lisa, but I was determined.
Lisa was a good ol' mutt. She had the features and markings of a classic Jack Russell Terrier, but was larger, more like the size of a beagle. Her tail was longer than a Jack Russell's too.
She was a wild, willful dog with an intense prey drive. She was always bringing us 'gifts' and was an incorrigible car chaser. My father joked that she must be part 'wild African dog'.
Lisa was our fierce defender, protecting us from the mailman, meter readers, and anyone who dared set foot on the property without permission.
She also was a dear friend who came into our lives after the tragic loss of my older brother.
Sadly, when leash laws came into effect, our suburban yard was too small to contain her big spirit and boundless energy. My parents explained that they'd found a new home for Lisa with a family who had a large parcel of land. I was of course heartbroken, but I knew they were right. It was a lesson in unselfish love.
Lisa adjusted well to her new family and finished out her days a happy, 'free-range' dog.

My baby boy's name is "Colt"! I named him after the famous gun manufacturer, Samuel L. Colt. I have a life long passion for guns, carried one for work and also trained cadets in rookie school with firearms. So picking his name was related to something that I love and have a passion for.
He's a full blooded American Rottweiler that was given to me as a Christmas present from my patrol squad. He has helped keep me alive throughout my life changing events that has recently transpired.

My dog's name is Roxy (: She was named after my cousins crazy dog actually. One night my cousin Kylie brought her dog Roxy over to my house because she could no longer take care of her so she was giving her to me. Soon after she came by with the dog, it ran away! Literally got lost in my neighborhood and ran across a very busy street. That dog was psycho! Luckily, we got the dog back safely and Kylie took the dog home because she felt awful leaving that crazy thing with me.
About a year later, my parents surprised me with my very own dog and the first name that came to mind was Roxy. My dad told me not to name her that because "Roxy's are bat ***t crazy, but I wasn't listening to him. When my dog got to be 2 years old she started acting crazy when storms would roll in. If she was in the backyard and she knew a storm was coming, she would literally bust the screen and jump through the window! She has ran away a few times, but that's only if there's a storm or she's left outside by herself.
Every time my Roxy acts crazy, I can't help but think of the night that Kylie brought her Roxy over haha
