Traveling opens ones eyes and soul. It awakens the storyteller in yourself.
I have been fortunate enough to do a fair bit of travelling but my latest and most memorable adventure happened in Turkey. My boyfriend and myself saved for a few months, boarded a plane to board another to then hop onto a Turkish Gullet boat to set sail.

The port city where the boat was docked at- Bodrum was beautiful, beaming with life and culture. You didn't have to look far to find little treasures, my favourite ones were under my two feet. We found a local restaurant to sit and rest our feet while our captain readied the vessel. Once we boarded the boat we were greeted by the world and ready to begin the adventure of a lifetime.

Our room was quaint to say the least, and had to move our luggage in and out of the room when we needed to get in or use the bathroom. Our captain shared his memories with us while the two other crewmen prepared our meals in possibly the worlds smallest kitchen. Each morning the food bell rang and we engulfed our breakfast in our new surroundings. Every location we arrived at was somehow more beautiful than the one before. We filled our week with hikes, boat jumping, ocean swimming, dancing and pirate parties. When we left the comfort of our little boat we tried a traditional Turkish bath, checked out the night life and the local markets and filled our stomachs with the most incredible gelato which was served next to a bank shaped like a orange.

Before we knew it the week was over and it was time to pack up our memories and begin the journey home. Thank you to Contiki for giving us a week filled with adventure, food, drinks and laughter.
