Control Freak Personality - Are You Out of Control?

Does your hair always stand up in disarray when you walk into a room, do you find it hard to contain a fit of laughter and are generally prone to spontaneous combustion? If you answer "yes" to any of these questions then you might be a Control Freaky! You might be dealing with a very distorted view of who you are. A distorted self-image of a person with a distorted reality that is all consuming and overinflated and thus out of control. Or maybe you have a personality disorder which makes you think you are this way and this need for control is your own personal Vietnam War syndrome.

Those with a personality disorder, or a Control freak out of control, are basically out of control. They are out of proportion to their environment. They can't deal with change and often cannot function without some kind of control oracle. They cannot seem to deal with the light or the dark. They cannot be pleased with either and are often depressed, angry or scared.

The more control freak your personality is the more out of control it can get. Some may call them outwitting or more times than not they are just so outwitted that they cannot control what goes on in their life. And why should it matter what goes on in your life?

Insecurity is a big one. When others are secure and comfortable they feel good about themselves and are able to relax. But most of us do not have enough security and comfort and that translates to us being unable to relax or laugh at a joke. When we are insecure about our sense of humor becomes dry and dead and this in turn will affect the quality of our relationships. We become closed up and defensive and will not share.

Most importantly when you have a control freak you do not get involved in the game. If you are up against a really good competitor you will be so focused on your performance you will get distracted by whether or not you will lose or win. In order to win control freak style you have to play. And yes you need to engage.

If you find yourself working in an office where there are other people who don't get along well or your boss is constantly getting angry, then you may have a personality that is out of control. Maybe you have a reputation for being a control freak and a whiz at work. No matter how you look at it you are the one responsible for your own actions. But if you change your ways you will change your office.
