How do you control your thoughts when emotions hit you hard?

Control of body through muscles is possible by way of practice. Control of thoughts through brain and nerve is also possible by way of self-confidence, self-control, reasoning, logic, intelligence and practice. Strong emotions are joy, sorrows, anger, fear, shyness, etc.

  1. Happiness and sorrows:- We generally be overjoyed in our good days and break down in bad days as well. Happiness and sorrows come in our life in turns like day and night. They are sure, but temporary. Hence, there is no logic to be carried away with joy or sorrows. Good days are not permanent, and bad days are also not. We should not be overwhelmed. Accept joy and sorrow humbly with your calm. Of course, enjoy good days but do not think it to be everlasting. Do not be overjoyed or proud. Do not neglect or hate others. Similarly, do not lose heart in bad days. Face it with courage. Pray to God. It is also temporary. There is a silver lining in every cloud. When winter comes, can spring be so behind? The darker the night, the nearer the sunrise. With the realization of this truth, you will be able to control your emotion as such. Express yourself in a decent manner with a positive approach to life.
