Debating with long messages.

If you have to have an emotionally intense conversation with someone, and you have to do it over text/email/message, it seems plausible to me you should refrain from sending long manifestos back and forth at each other.

I get that nuance is lost when you have less words, but it's draining to receive a wall of text and feel the need to respond to all the different points.

Also, if you send a manifesto and they only respond to some of your points, the conversation can be exasperating.

Also the more you are sending essays back and forth, the more you are in your head and not just connecting with the other person.

Having one narrow thread of a conversation seems like it's best for these sorts of chats.
