As an expert cook of my home, for more than 30 years, I want to give you one of the most valuable secrets, also used, worldwide, by expert chefs for the preparation of many dishes. For me it is a simply essential ingredient in the kitchen.
It is corn starch, also known as corn flour, starch or cornstarch. It is a very fine flour that is obtained through the processing of one of the parts of the corn.
The particular characteristic of this incredible powder is that, dissolved in water, it is capable of thickening any liquid, either salty or sweet, for which we can obtain really delicious sauces and extraordinary sweets.
The secret is to dissolve, always in water at room temperature, more or less the equivalent of 6 tablespoons of water x a tablespoon of cornstarch, and add at the end of the cooking of the dish, leaving to cook for only 2 minutes.
As if by magic, that liquid will become thick and very pleasing to the eye and to taste. If you want the liquid to become even thicker, just repeat the procedure and add the indicated mixture again.
In addition to making the food look more appetizing, you will be using a very nutritious and gluten-free ingredient, which you can also use in countless desserts.
