Buffalo Trace Bourbon Glaze

in cooking •  7 years ago

1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp minced garlic
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup Buffalo Trace
2-3 Tbs corn starch
4 Tbs soy sauce

Whisk together all ingredients in a small pot, heating until boiling. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook for 3-4 minutes, until glaze thickens a bit.

Review: I tried this with a slow cooked pork roast. The glaze was wonderful and I think the fact that I traded out Jim Bean for Buffalo Trace really helped. The glaze would also go well with chicken wings. I'm sure if you added some red pepper flakes to give it a bit of a bite, it would work out great too. I'll be making this for the TIHIDMB bbq this year.
