What Broke Vegans Eat! (Fully Cooked, No Kitchen)

in cooking •  6 years ago  (edited)

Double or tripple tier steamers are a great way to eat on a budget especially when in a dorm or hotel room. I usually cook potatoes, rice, or quinoa on one level and a choice of vegetables on the other and then put sauce on top after. It's best to choose stuff that cooks at similar times so everything is ready to eat at the same time.

Steaming is the healthiest way to eat food other than raw. You don't even need a real kitchen. You just need an electrical outlet, a sink for water and clean up, maybe a cutting board and knife and space to chop, and a place to vent the steam (high ceiling, fan, or open window). Put your stuff in to steam, walk away, and let dinner cook itself! Clean up is easy because except for crumbs, everything is already clean, it mostly just needs t be rinsed out and dried. Be careful, steam is F***ing hot! Just not steem right now ;) Sorry, it's been too long since my last pun haha!
