It belongs to the Psittacidae family. It is a very striking bird, bright green, with yellow head and shoulders, which inhabits the hills of the Macanao Peninsula. It feeds mainly on yaguarery, yaurero, yaque, guayacán and guichere. They live as a couple and their reproductive season begins in April, when they lay their eggs on the hollow trunks of trees such as the healthy wood, the oak and the quebrajacho; until June and July when their chicks are born.
