Pattern of clouds

When we talk about pattern recognition, the first idea that comes to mind is recognizing patterns in clouds because it is an extremely interesting topic. These patterns are like shapes that clouds usually have and that can be used to classify them, to know the type of cloud it is both for scientific purposes and for weather forecasting, which I find extremely interesting.

I'm going to talk briefly about the patterns that these clouds have, and I got this information from Wikipedia. We have the clouds that are called cirrus clouds, which are very high and thin. According to Wikipedia, they are made up of ice crystals and have a fibrous appearance. These clouds are associated with weather changes. We also have the stratus, which are low, flat clouds that cover a large part of the sky. These clouds are associated with gray and rainy days, so if you see these clouds, it is likely to rain.

Cumulus clouds are fluffy white clouds with a flat base and a rounded top. They are very pretty clouds and signal that it will be a nice sunny day, but these clouds can grow and become storm clouds. Cumulus nimbus are large clouds that can produce lightning, thunder and rain. Cumulus stratus are low, gray clouds that can occupy much of the sky, and are associated with unstable weather. Cumulus nimbus are large, dense clouds that can produce thunderstorms, hail, strong winds, and lots of rain.

Alto cumulus clouds are medium clouds with a wavy or swirl-like appearance, and are associated with changes in weather. Stratus cirrus clouds are high-altitude clouds that cover much of the sky and have a thin, stringy appearance. By observing these patterns, meteorologists and scientists can tell what kind of weather change is coming, be it storms or hurricanes, which makes it a very interesting hobby.

Of course, there is a whole technical process to be able to identify and recognize these clouds, such as the analysis of their textures, the segmentation of the images, classifying them statistically, among other methods that serve to classify and label the clouds. In addition, we must mention the playful or cultural part that has to do with art, since looking at the clouds serves to imagine worlds and figures, as well as to artistically paint the sky, something that many painters and artists do. Who has not sat on the grass or lay down on it to look at the clouds? Pattern recognition in clouds is something that is very beautiful and interesting.
