Over the weekend the keynote speaker at a conference I attended was Keni Thomas. Keni is a country music star and a former US Army Ranger. He was involved in the Battle of Mogadishu which inspired the movie Blackhawk Down. The message he delivered is one of leadership. The strength of a team is directly correlated to the strength of its training and leadership comes from training. He delivered a riveting, fast-paced and engaging presentation telling the story of how Operation Restore Hope mission forced him into a leadership position. Without the strong training of Keni and his team by the Army Rangers the mission could have had a devastating outcome.
Not only is Keni Thomas an extremely talented speaker, but he is also a country music star who has performed his songs many times at the Grand Ole Opry. We were fortunate to be blessed with one of his songs "Not Me". Enjoy his talent and listen closely to the lyrics. Consider the implication of the lyrics within your own life.
Ingrained upon my memory will be the passionate delivery of a final message to the audience.
Numerous times in daily life we have encounters with people who are trying to divide us, through race, sex, politics...and now my mantra shall be:
Final thoughts are how very impressed at how Keni stood for 4 hours signing books and making time to learn about each individual, not rushing but completely engaging each person. I felt honored to thank him for his services and his inspirational speech. We need more Keni's in this world. Learn more about Keni Thomas at: http://kenithomas.com/
