The Davidic covenant: He is the one who will build a house for me, and I will establish his throne forever

When Jesus announces the Kingdom of God, he tells us that this Kingdom is inside and outside of us: "Once, on being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, ´The coming of the kingdom of God is no something that can be observed, nor will people say, ´Here it is,´ or ´There it is,´ because the kingdom of God is in your midst." Luke 17:20-21.
The Kingdom of God within us is the inner search for the path of mercy and piety. On the other hand, the Kingdom of God outside of us begins to manifest itself in history through the Davidic covenant. This pact is a continuation of the pact of the old alliance and also an extension, because God promises David not only the land, the kingdom of Israel, but also a savior who will be one of his descendants and will establish an eternal kingdom, the kingdom of God outside of us:
"I declare to you that the LORD will build a house for you: When you days are over and you go to be with your ancestors, I will raise up your offspring to succeed you, one of your own sons, and I will establish his kingdom. He is the one who will build a house for me, and I will establish his throne forever. I will be his father, and he will be my son. I will never take my love away from him, as I took it away from your predecessor. I will set him over my house and my kingdom forever; his throne will be established forever." 1 Chronicles 17:10-14.

We see the future manifestation of the Kingdom of God ´outside us´, as a promise made to David in a prophecy: "´The days are coming,´ declares the LORD, ´when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, a King who will reign wisely and do what is just and right in the land." Jeremiah 23:5.
This Kingdom of God, which is still in development, must be completed with the second coming of the son of man: "These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open" Revelation 3:7.
