Alex Crits-Christoph who contributed to the raccoon dog analysis created these maps from the new data released by Chinese researchers.
Here you can see the highest SARS-COV-2 positivity was in the southwest corner of the Huanan market where the raccoon dog stalls were found. In fact stall 6-29 where the raccoon dog samples were found had the highest positivity rate among the stalls sampled 3 or more times.
Just for clarity raccoon dogs are closer to foxes than dogs. Though they are all part of Caninae subfamily.
And this isn't direct evidence of an infected raccoon dog or zoonotic spillover. Even if it was, it may be another animal than a raccoon dog. There were a few potentially susceptible animals beyond raccoon dogs found in this location.
