Parents were presented with four different messages regarding vaccination. When presented with a message that highlighted that trusted parents got their children vaccinated, parents were more likely to say they would vaccinate their children than parents that received the control message.

Other research has shown how important it is that people trusted by someone are the messengers for vaccination. A lot of this weight comes down to family doctors and pediatricians, but there is a role too for family, friends, community and religious leaders, etc. It can be as simple as just letting someone close to you know that you got vaccinated and it went well. That's why even vaccine selfies can be valuable.
