My newest project was diving head first into reupholstering four dining room chairs. I knew exactly what I wanted to do from the first time I saw them, sketched it out on paper and then figured out what materials I’d need: furniture grade plywood, high density foam, bedding layers, foam to wrap the plywood edges, the suede fabric, and then stapling the bottom shut and sealing with a layer of black felt. This was definitely more of an undertaking then I had originally intended, but couldn’t be more pleased with the results, especially given the reupholstering process was done out of state remotely and not even near the chairs - then assembled on site.
The left is the before, and the chair on the right is the after. And technically the before picture is actually mid way through the process as there was originally matching brown padding on the back which I replaced with the two metal horizontal bars.
Not sure if they’ll be more upholstering in the near future, but definitely so delighted about how these turned out!
