Maria has always lived life off curiosity, gambling through life and placing bets on things that could cost her life. She believes that a lucky person doesn't have to follow the process of things.
"Life is a gamble, place your bets. You never know when you'll win!" She would tell her friends who often caution her to stop being wild and living a frivolous life.
At 15, Maria was an epitome of dazzling beauty. An hour glass shape, blue dreamy eyes that would send her admirers to sleep, long brown curly her that gave her the fiesta look.
She ran away from home at 16 with her boyfriend of 40 who worked at the museum as an art curator. They met at the museum when Maria visited there with her friends, he seduced her with his looks and they spent the night at Hotel Venice.
Her parents were against their relationship, so she eloped with her boyfriend to another city, he promised her love and happiness but two years later Maria received a mail inviting her to her boyfriend's wedding with a strange lady.
Broken, she took the next available train to England and lived over the years as a model, away from home and everything she once had and loved.
Maria met a man who admired her so much that they had to live together as friends with benefits. Doing everything together until he died of cancer.
Now, Maria is 50. Calmer, and her beauty an history, as she stares at the reflection of her body in the mirror at Hotel Venice, she sighs.
"Life is a gamble." She mutters.
