The rumor of Guitar Center closing has been heavy the last 2 years while their debt stacks up and credit rating drops. Add in the fact most Guitar Centers had horrible customer service and online stores are booming, you could start to see why Guitar Center might be done.

Guitar Center has recently stated they have no plans to close shop and have huge plans to turn things around in the customer service.

I has some bad Guitar Center experiences in the past but noticed my local Guitar Center had the Behringer Model D on sale, so I figured it was time to test the waters and I was shocked.

Do you feel Guitar Center trying to turn around or are doomed to close within a few years?

The name might be a bigger problem than anything. Guitars aren't really an attracting force at this point in history. So, a little re-branding might be in order. I've had some sketchy experiences dealing with them. But they have improved their customer service in the last couple of years. They really have no choice if they want to stay afloat.
