On January 1, at my previously reviewed lentil party, I was able to share for the last time with whom I called "my Russian mother", Nadia Rodina.

Since we met she was in charge of supporting me, advising me and sometimes even scolding me, when I deserved it. An extraordinary woman of surprising vitality.

As a good Russian, she was Orthodox and all her farewell was done within the framework of that religion. For that reason, after 9 days of death, a mass was made that coincided with the commemoration of Jesus' baptism.

Since the Orthodox Russian Church no longer exists in Caracas, the Mass was celebrated in the Serbian Orthodox Church. I was very surprised to find all that beautiful and colorful iconography. Although the lighting did not help to get better images, I wanted to share the best that I could achieve.

El día 1° de enero, en mi anteriormente reseñada fiesta de lentejas, pude compartir por ultima vez con quien yo llamaba "mi madre rusa", Nadia Rodina.

Desde que nos conocimos ella se encargó de apoyarme, aconsejarme y a veces hasta regañarme, cuando correspondía. Una mujer extraordinaria y de una vitalidad sorprendente.

Como buena rusa, era ortodoxa y toda su despedida se hizo en el marco de esa religión. Por esa razón a los 9 días de fallecimiento, se le hizo una misa que coincidió con la conmemoración del bautismo de Jesús.

Como en Caracas ya no existe la Iglesia rusa ortodoxa, la misa se celebró en la Iglesia serbia ortodoxa. Me sorprendió mucho reencontrarme con toda esa iconografía tan bonita y vistosa. A pesar de que la iluminación no ayudó a conseguir mejores imágenes, quise compartir las que quedaron mejor.

Am 1. Januar konnte ich auf meiner zuvor besprochenen Linsenparty zum letzten Mal mit wem ich "meine russische Mutter" nannte teilen, Nadia Rodina.

Seit wir uns kennenlernten, war sie immer dafür mich zu unterstützen, zu beraten und manchmal sogar zu schelten, wenn es angebracht war. Eine außergewöhnliche Frau von überraschender Vitalität.

Als gute Russin war sie orthodox und ihr ganzer Abschied wurde im Rahmen dieser Religion getan. Aus diesem Grund wurde nach 9 Tagen Tod eine Messe abgehalten, die mit dem Gedenken an die Taufe Jesu zusammenfiel.

Da die orthodoxe russische Kirche in Caracas nicht mehr existiert, wurde die Messe in der serbisch-orthodoxen Kirche gefeiert. Ich war sehr überrascht, all diese schöne und farbenfrohe Ikonographie wieder zu finden. Obwohl die Beleuchtung nicht dazu beitrug, bessere Bilder zu erhalten, wollte ich die Beste mit euch teilen.
