Task #8 in the second creative writing challenge hosted by @steemfluencer. For this one I decided to take a little creative liberty in order to run with the story told in task #7.
After Adam tells Charles his story of a long lost love, he has a episode as in his older age he is losing his wits a bit. He escapes the hospital to find himself at a diner that takes him back in time, leading him to write the following letter...
My dearest Rose,
I hope this letter finds you well. How are things at the new job? Hopefully it is going well.
Things have been going very well at my job since the promotion. In just six short months I've grown the division by 50% and management is impressed.
However, every moment I'm not at work all I think of is you. I think I made a mistake staying here. I should have come to you. I know a little time has passed, but I don't believe the love for one another is gone.
If you are up for it, I'd very much like to come up and visit you so we can talk and spend some time together. I'd like to discuss what possible future there is for us and what I can do to make that happen.
Whatever it takes, I'm ready. You are the love of my life and I have been regretting my decision since the day I made it.
The love we share cannot be replaced and I'm ready to fight for it.
Rose, if you still feel the same for me as I do you. I know we can make it.
