I'm more and more tempted by these kinds of challenges, as they always bring to mind ideas of using tools on the internet to craft art I would never in a million years be able to craft on my own (Well.. Ok.. maybe I'd be able to get at least some skill in a million years of practice, but I'd still be no Van Gogh !)
First, a better image for the post thumbnail is one of the results ;)
So, I used 3 artist styles:
- Van Gogh,
- Leonardo Da Vinci
- Hans Holbein The Younger (specifically, his The Ambassadors painting style)
Here's the process I followed:
adjusting the image in an online image editor
I took one of the EOS images from the post and edited it a bit in the online Canva editing tool
Creating the background using Generative Art
I then googled about a bit in search of a good tool to create the background, and found Weavesilk by Yuri Vishnevsky.
It's an Interactive Generative Art tool, existing as it's own website and also available on Iphone/Ipad that makes some astonishing and beautiful weaves.
I immediately knew I had to use it for the project !!
All art created by the Weavesilk tool is released under Creative Commons (CC-BY 3.0) and therefore so is my submission to this challenge.
You can even adjust the symmetry !
I chose a 5-point symmetry setting with Mirror effect ON.
And thus, here is the background I will combine with the logo !
Gimping a bit
I then imported both the logo and the background into GIMP
and combined them
Then, I went over to my Deep Dream Generator account to "steal" the style of my selected artists.
Results of Deep Dreaming
And here's the results !
Raw, without added styles
Van Gogh styled dream
Leonardo Da Vinci styled dream
The Ambassadors Styled dream
Daniel Knight styled dream
(I have no idea who he is... the style just caught my eye and I decided to apply it)
All images above, except the original EOS logo, are released under a CC-BY 3.0 license, to keep conformity with Weavesilks license
