Steemit-Fueled Creativity

I was browsing Steemit today when I stumbled onto a post from 18 days ago... no idea how I missed it. Basically @dimitrij took one of my drum grooves from an old post ('DRUM12') and learned / expanded upon the idea, adding some more intense patterns in the ride cymbal.

Here's his post: https://steemit.com/drums/@dimitrij/drum-01-practice-re-drum12-layers-upon-layers-of-polyrhythm-by-matt-sokol-recorder-man-over-head-recording-technique

This is a great example of how the internet brings people together. We don't even live on the same continent, yet I'm able to take inspiration from Dimitri's great music here on Steem and then he learns from my videos as well.

Blockchain Will Lead to Greater Ideas Than Centralized Social Media

"Creativity is just connecting things. [..] They were able to connect experiences they've had and synthesize new things." - Steve Jobs, founder of Apple and Pixar

The nature of the blockchain is that it minimizes limitations and restrictions in favor of maximizing the spread of ideas. We allow ideas to grow and evolve rather than trapping them behind paywalls. If your goal, like me, is to simply create the greatest artwork that you possibly can during your lifetime - then it's a no-brainer to be on Steemit.

Forget about all the doubt, the day traders speculating on prices, the whale drama. Us dolphins & minnows really have no need to pay attention to that. There's so much fun to be had, and this is just awesome.

Thanks @dimitrij! If anybody else is looking for good drum and progressive music related content, he's a guy to follow.

Thanks for the shoutout man! your idea was inspirational, and it was really cool for me to practice it and make my twist.. was really sad when I found out that you dismantled your drum kit.. I hoped that we can make a back-and-forth idea exchange, cause that would motivate me more to practice on my own :D but, that doesn't mean I should stop practicing...
i'll tag you if I have some other poly idea :)

Please do! I'll have the kit set up again soon, within the month at most. It's been a great time to do some really deep practice pad work anyway, I'm actually glad it worked out this way.

nice man! what are you practicing now? what's your routine? help a brother out! :)
we could do some sort of a drum practice group, and make monthly or whatever reports on the topics.. just an idea.. i know i'm really bad at organizing and motivating myself to real practice, that sort of commitment would probably help :)

I'd love to do that! This actually ties into another idea I just had the other day... are you on any of the Steem discord channels? I'm on the Minnow Support Group one, the SteemSpeaks one, and the Steemit Musicians one - if you jump on any of those, we could work out a plan

Cool!

good luck for the future!
lets rock & roll!
