So we're all racist but we don't know it?

Guys, just stop it. The debate about Critical Race Theory isn't a debate about whether or not we should teach the facts of our history no matter how uncomfortable. I've been saying since before college that we need to do a better job of teaching history and I am an opponent of CRT.

But, really, it's right there in the name that CRT isn't just about accurate teaching of the history of race in this country.
First of all, the word "history" is nowhere to be found in the name.

Second of all, the word "theory" is not used in the scientific context. This isn't like the "theory" of relativity. This is the casual use of the word "theory" which is much closer to "hypothesis." It's fine to teach what a guess or interpretation states; but, it's not okay to teach it as fact.

Third of all, you've got the word "critical." That means either definition 1. expressing adverse or disapproving comments or judgments; or 2. expressing or involving an analysis of the merits and faults of a work of literature, music, or art.

Basically, it's standing out there all pink and naked that it's not just about teaching the history of race relations. This is a dumb argument that supports of CRT being part of K-12 curriculum are trying to peddle in order to paint the critics as racists who are afraid to face our own history. It wastes everyone's time and obscures the reality of what's being pushed.
