That person has failed me.

Let us always remember how God is with us, that is how we should be with others, just as we have been forgiven we should forgive.

21 Then Peter came to him and said, Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times? 22 Jesus said to him, I do not say to you up to seven times, but even up to seventy times seven.
The Two Debtors
23 Therefore the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. 24 And as he began to settle accounts, a man was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents. 25 And when he was not able to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, along with his wife and children and all that he had, that the debt might be paid. 26 And the servant fell down and begged him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. 27 And the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and released him, and forgave him the debt. 28 And the servant went out, and found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii; and he laid hold of him, and choked him, saying, Pay me that which thou oweth me. 29 And his fellow servant fell down at his feet, and begged him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. 30 But he would not, but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt. 31 When his fellow servants saw what had happened, they were deeply distressed and went and told their master everything that had happened. 32 Then his master called him and said to him, "You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you begged me. 33 Should you not have had mercy on your fellow servant, just as I had mercy on you?" 34 Then his master was angry and handed him over to the torturers until he should pay back all that was owed to him. 35 So my heavenly Father will do to you if each of you does not forgive his brother from his heart his sins."

Matthew 18:21-35

Maybe we are in a difficult situation and the people we love the most, family or friends, are moving away little by little and this is much worse, that is to say, when you suffer and you are alone it is much more difficult, at this moment we ask ourselves the following question: why have they abandoned me? What is surely the last thing we think is that they have moved away because they do not know how to help us or they cannot bear to see us suffer, we think many other worse things.
To these questions we can have an answer according to the Bible, just as God has forgiven us, we must also forgive those around us, we do not have the right not to forgive people, (I am not talking about staying in an abusive situation).

16 In my first defense no one stood by me, but all forsook me; let it not be held against them.

2 Timothy 4:16

Here we see the apostle Paul and he is a great example which we can imitate. After being imprisoned and alone in Rome, he summarized a fragment in this phrase "let it not be held against him." It may be that Paul in that situation remembered Stephen when Paul himself or "Saul" was the participant with those who stoned them and heard Stephen say "do not hold this sin against them."

60 And he knelt down and cried out with a loud voice, Lord, do not hold this sin against them. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

Acts 7:60

This is an exemplary picture for all humanity, but perhaps the apostle Paul, I am sure, also contemplated an even greater picture, it is the death of the Lord Jesus Christ and how he faced this situation before those who wanted to see him dead, let us remember the prayer of Jesus Christ who said: "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do."

34 And Jesus said: Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. And they divided his garments among them, casting lots.

Luke 23:34

God loves us and also forgives us without any restriction, without any reservation. He desires that we all turn from our evil ways and in the same way we too must seek that in people; we must be willing to forgive.
