Crypto-currency: Introduction: What should we all know about it ...if anything ?

imageOne who spends any time at all following the hyperbolical world of crypto-currency is I think, very likely to be stunned by the phenomenon. This world is populated by an eclectic and interesting group of people. The proponents of the cause project "true-belief" , radicalism, passion, and yes, reasoned argument. The nay-sayers are predictably a less colourful lot, but command our attention by predicting a colossal financial meltdown.

Most people will never have anything more than the most superficial understanding of the technical aspects of these digital currencies. However the same can probably be said for the workings of the ''fiat'' currencies upon which we all depend, use, and need every day. Is Bitcoin real? Well...... is ''fiat'' currency real? These are important questions, perhaps the most important questions!..... but neither of these two questions is the first question I will try to answer.

I will say this: Amongst the diverse mob of strange beings who make up the community that is the world of crypto-currency there are few if any rogues and crooks. They may all be making an honest mistake. It may all end in wrack and ruin.....but it is not a scam.

Let us ask a basic question in the next post: If Bitcoin were to prove ''real'', if crypto-currency were here to stay, would that be a good thing ?
