We've once again cracked the $1B mark and most coins are finally green over the last 24 hours. EOS is making a quick ascension into the top 10 after just being released for trading. As I pointed out last night here, most of the volume is coming from EOS/CYN (> 85%). Dash is the only coin that's green across the board, but others are only down less than 1% in the last hour. Litecoin, EOS, BitShares, AntShares and Siacoin are all over double digit percentages in the last 24 hours.

Breaking: South Korea is Preparing to Regulate and Legalize Bitcoin

A new set of bills is reportedly being prepared to regulate and legalize cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum in South Korea. According to a report today by the Korea Herald, representative Park Yong-jin, a lawmaker and member of the country’s ruling Democratic Party is drawing up three revisions this month to build a regulatory framework for digital currencies. One of the bills will look at revising the existing Electronic Financial Transactions Act in order to mandate regulatory approval for cryptocurrency transactions, according to the report. In effect, this would mean that traders and even companies engaging in cryptocurrency transactions would be under the purview of the South Korean government.

This will allow the bank to explore the possibilities of new innovations like Bitcoin to determine if Thailand should embrace it, how suitable it is for the country, how risky, how to prevent fraud, and to encourage entrepreneurs and financial institutions to get involved in fintech.”
