Hey Steemit, today i want to share my thoughts on topic why its profitable to buy now bitcoin.
First of all in 2017 it was huge profit for all because bitcoin went from 1k to 17-19k in December so its 16k profit each bitcoin. In 2018 Bitcoin went from 17k to 3-4k and its again huge profit for people who was short on bitcoin, they earned around 13-14k profit from each bitcoin!
So 2 years in a row was potentially huge profit if you are experienced trader.
Now in 2019 bitcoin is around 4k and in terms of short maximum profit is 3-4k if bitcoin will go to zero, but if we think in terms of huge profit then its for sure not shorting, because potential there again much more than 3k.
That's why i think we will go up this year, because there is no much profit for bear market , but bear market can continue until ~ 2k , so it will be more profitable for people to enter market for bull run.
Plus don't forget that stock market right now is in huge minus : amazon,facebook and others are in minus, plus prices in properties are all time high i think and overpriced and this bubble can burst any moment and we will go to next economy crisis. I think if that happens we will enter bull run in crypto so I'm waiting this moment.
Overall there is not huge risk to enter now into bitcoin because at max you lose 3-4k per bitcoin, but you can gain much more! Im not sure about altcoins, in my opinion 90% of them will die, because they dont have future and product, but steemit will survive if we will be more independent from steem inc and Ned!

This is the time we are waiting for so long, Bitcoin has all the potential to go to the stars.
Like you just described the stock market is on the floor, Facebook selling private information, high interest on credit cards, etc.

I do agree to some extent, if you haven't already, it's definitely worth buying some BTC at this point but I certainly wouldn't be buying a lot right now.
When an asset drops value it will be because it is over valued and in order to find the floor where we will see a potential reversal, we must first understand the true value of that asset.
Prices did rocket to $20k+ but it wasn't climbing due to an increase in it's utilisation or true value, it was increasing due to a lot of 'dumb money' being pumped into the marketplace from people that were buying the BTC for nothing more than 'hope' that it will continue to climb... until it eventually reached a point where people began to hesitate and wonder, how much higher could it go?...
Since November '17 I was saying BTC needs to retest the $3-3.5k support level be making any sustainable gains.
I have been buying BTC and I will continue to buy the dips based on my own TA. I do believe BTC can fall to $1k and even dip it's head below. I would expect a clear reversal sign from all the buy orders being picked up and institutional money flooding in, driving the daily candle up +$2k.
Such an event would signal a strong reversal to me. Until then, I am staggering my buy-in's.

its definitely a good time to trade crypto, I'm probably shifting some alts to Bitcoin, or Ethereum.

I prefer to hodl altcoins if i see development , product and strong presence in exchanges ( vs bitcoin). I'm not sure of Ethereum because altcoins will dump Ethereum all year for sure from all icos.
