What would Satoshi do?

In the debate about Bitcoin Cash and if it is any good, some one that could be the legendary Satoshi nakomoto, left his opinion to Bitcoin Cash and the future of Bitcoin on Twitter.

-I have followed the current debate on block size in the mailing list. I was hoping that the debate would dissolve and that a fork proposal would generate the broadest possible consensus. However, with the formal release of Bitcoin XT 0.11A this looks very unlikely. I am therefore forced to express my concerns about this very dangerous fork. The developers of this bitcoin pretend to follow the original version of Bitcoin. But nothing could be further from the truth. When I developed Bitcoin, I designed it to make future changes difficult without unanimous agreement.

Bitcoin is designed to protect it from the influence of charismatic leaders - whether they are Gavin Andresen, Barack Obama or Satoshi Nakamoto. Almost everyone has to agree to a change without being forced or pressured. By launching this fork, the developers violate the "original vision" they claim to honor.

They use my old documents to claim what Bitcoin should have been originally. I know, however, that a lot has changed since then and new knowledge has been added, which contradicts some of my earlier views. For example, I did not expect pool mining and its effects on the network. Making Bitcoin a competitive monetary system while maintaining its security aspects is not an easy task. We should take more time to find a robust solution. I believe we should create better incentives for users running nodes rather than simply relying on altruism.

If two developers can fork Bitcoin and successfully redefine what "Bitcoin" is - especially in the face of technical criticism and with the use of populist tactics - I will have no choice but to declare the project Bitcoin a failure. Bitcoin should be both technically and socially robust. Overall, the current situation is very unsatisfactory.
