So I am very new to all this crypto currency stuff but have been earning some with my music on musicoin.
I decided to have a play in the markets and transferred some $MUSIC over to Cryptopia and purchased some XTRABYTES on the recommendation of a friend who thinks their technology is going to be awesome if it comes to fruition.
Anyway I then found out that you can generate some passive income with NEON which produces GAS all the time you have some NEO in your wallet. It only equates to about 10% a year but it's better than nothing IF NEO performs no worse than other CRYPTOS right! So I sold the XBY and bought NEO instead.
Anyway I got a nice surprise today when NEO went up 11% as at writing this:
Whilst at the same time XBY only went up 5.44%
and the long term chart for NEO looks very impressive:
As you can see I'm not holding a lot but it's kind of fun watching the GAS being generated!
So I'm interested in what people think about NEO as a long term bet as I might get some more.
UPDATE Jan 15th
And still it climbs! Just wanted to give an update on how NEO is going for me. musicoin seems to be on a downward trend at the moment so I am pleased I made the decision to get some NEO.
So my holdings for the 2 NEO coins is now worth $342! Amazing!

Loved your post. I think it's awesome that you're able to get paid for your music in crypto, it's a life changer for current and upcoming musicians. Crypto allows some people who weren't able to give or donate before a chance to do it now.
As for Neo, I could see Neo going to $300-400 in a year or two. Neo appears to be one of the more promising top cryptocurrencies but I definitely can't predict the future. I think its a good pick but personally it's too expensive for me even if it does go that high, compared to the gains you could get from other coins. I'm just giving my opinion of course, I don't want to influence you in any way.

Thank you. Yes it's a really exciting time for musicians. There are a lot of different services being developed and it's very exciting!
We make virtually nothing from sites like Spotify and in just a few weeks I have made about 10 times (or more) what I can make there.
Obviously I won't take it as a given but I'd be interested to know what the other coins are you think will give better gains. I'm just playing with the money I am earning from my music so it's money I can afford to lose at the moment so I'd like to have lots of different holdings.

The way I think is Neo would have to go to $500+ to give me 5x gains. Steem was as low as $3.90 in the past few days and around the low $4 range. If Steem goes to $25 that would be 5x which I believe will happen. Who will get there first is the real question though. Steemit is an unbelievable platform as well as D.tube. I think that they both have long way to go and that this is just the beginning for them. The thing about the two would be, Steem could possibly max out at around $40 but Neo could blow past 10x gains. So Neo in the end may be the winner but I'd have less coins that I'm winning with. Anything can happen though, I'm excited to see where we're at in a year from now but also enjoying every day. Hope you have a good weekend!

You're very welcome! I shouldn't have compared Neo and Steem, it was just easy to at the time. They both are phenomenal cryptos and I think they will both explode this year. Holding onto both would be the smart move. Thanks for opening my eyes a bit more to Neo. I did some more research afterwords and because of that I will be picking up some Neo too.
