I'm mining crypto with a laptop so I know it is possible. I'm not mining like mega amounts but every little bit adds up right? What I have found is that because of the way most digital currencies like bitcoin are made it becomes more difficult over time to mine them. So I got to thinking about looking into mining some other lesser known currencies.
This Is Where I'm Mining Crypto With My Laptop
Here Are Some Of The Top Currencies You Can Mine.
- Zcash (ZEC)
- Ethereum (ETH)
- Ethercoin (ETC)
- Litecoin (LTC)
- Monero (XMR)
- Fantomcoin (FCN)
- QuazarCoin (QCN)
- MonetaVerde (MCN)
- Dashcoin (DSH)
This is just a list of some of the ones you could mine. You can mine bitcoin and some others that are super difficult and would take you all year to mine one coin and tons of computing power. Honestly I don't even think all year with a laptop would mine a single bitcoin.
Isn't There a lot of risk with no name cryptocurrencies?
There is a ton of risk with all crypto currencies. I'm not recommended any single one to deal with. I think every person should do their own research and never invest more time or energy or money into one that you can't afford to lose. But If I was going to try and mine some crypto and take a complete risk any way why not mine a lesser know crypto? It just makes the best sense to me. Many of the lesser block chain currencies will one day blow up or maybe collapse. If you mined some crypto and it blows up then you can trade it an make bank. If it collapses then you wasted some energy and time that you will never get back.
People may think I'm crazy but I don't care...( I kinda Look Crazy Now..)
Back in 2010 I could have bought bitcoin for pennies and everyone said it was a scam and would never work. I even was going to start mining back then but again my friends and inner circle said I was crazy. Needless to say I didn't invest and I lost about 17 Million dollars because I was an idiot and cared what my friends thought. I let skeptics cost me a ton of money. I'm not going to do that again. One reason I'm at @steemit and all in. I know a good thing when I see it.
There are lots of ways to start mining.
You could buy some servers and learn all about that kind of stuff. You could buy mining contracts. You could mine in the cloud. You could straight up go buy some cheap cryptocurrency and forget about it for a while. My advice is to at least start looking into this space and make you some money one way or the other. If you are not on steemit then join. Learn more about digital currencies and how they can set you free.
Don't make the same mistakes I did and put it off.
In 2 hours I have mined Total mined:0.000222092758 Fantom Coin
While mining Monero at the same time. Total mined:0.000029597420

If I could mine Steem I would all day every day. I just don't have the servers and steem is mined privately still. Who knows maybe the devs will partner up with the place I use one day.

Can't your laptop get burned for mining cryptos with so low specs? I always wanted to mine but i don't want to spend money on hardware or in hashrate hahahaha.

Perhaps I'm not doing the numbers right, but if I calculate how much you earn if you have your laptop working 24x7 for one month mining Monero, you would get less than half a dollar. Is it worth?

It probably isn't worth it. But I'm doing it. There are a couple that generate fairly fast and they are not worth much today but maybe next year they will be worth something is my thought. My laptop is up and running anyways. I need to buy some servers or buy cloud hosting at genesis probably.
