When you don't succeed, sue? That seems to be the name of game these days lol
Well Nvidia is facing a class-action law suit that says they misled investors about the volume of sales to crypto miners. We all suspected for a while the Nvidia cards back in the day where mainly being over priced and bought up not only from gamers but also those trying to running mining rigs primarily for Ethereum. Remember the days of people with 20+ GPUs all strapped together mining.
What happened in those days is Nvidia continue to build massive wealth and over priced GPUs as there really was no good competition. At the time there was one other manufacture however their GPUs performed worse compared to NVidias and they even at one point came out with exclusive GPUs just for miners to target that audience.
The lawsuit states that the information that Nvidia was making droves of money off of miners was fake and in 2018 the stock fell by 30%. It starts to make you wonder about GPUs and AI now and how much they are doing the same thing based on this trend.
