Masmic Is Interesting

Wouldn't it be great if you got paid to answer questions? Something like an incentivised Quora. Well, that is what Masmic is - where you get paid to answer questions from other users in Stellar Lumens (XLM).

I first heard about the site via the faucets, clearly there are many users out there who are out to get the 5% referral rewards and that leads me to my main gripe about the platform. Once you incentivise something, there's going to be unintended consequences that you wouldn't have if the platform wasn't incentivised.

The biggest problem i see is the number of low quality, one-liner answers. Ok, so that's mildly annoying. Here's the bigger problem and it's one that Steemit has as well - bots and duplicate accounts. Because what determines the payouts on Masmic are the number of votes, someone with a bot army is going to get the rewards regardless of the quality of the answer.

This is especially so when the number of users isn't that high. I've seen some terrible answers get the top payout and the only way that's possible is if they have bot armies voting for them.

Anyway, if Masmic is to survive, they need to deal with this problem urgently. A phone verification at the very minimum. The occasional reCaptcha here and there wouldn't hurt either.

Anyway, if you're interested in checking out Masmic and earning some XLM, please consider signing up with my referral link or you could just go to masmic.com
