Recently, things seem to be cooling off. Most people have returned to work after their break, and are forced to work instead of monitor the crypto portfolios religiously... A potentially interesting correlation considering the timing. From practically the beginning of December until early Jan, the total market cap went from about $300B to almost $830B; a rise of almost 200%. That's crazy...
Same time last year, $14B to to a peak of $21B; a rise of 50%. Not as impressive but impressive nonetheless.
I predict a similar pattern to when we're seeing, a brief cooling in total to then the begging of potentially the biggest year. Myself, I've recently moved most of my short-term alt-coins to Bitcoin and Etherium in prep for this; a move that seems to be keeping things steady for me. How's Etherium though, WTF!
Another interesting (and predictable) correlation is the amount of search traffic related to "crypto" and "altcoin" and "bitcoin".
Not that the graph is great, but significant growth in "crypto" and "altcoin" and significant less interest in "bitcoin" on the tail end. Still, in my opinion bitcoin (and Etherium to some extent) are the only proven platforms thus far.
Enough graphs... there's a couple of crypto projects I'm passionate about that I hold for long term (10+ years), and that's:
- QSP: required for the industry and market leader with a great team and the best approach to crypto I've found. They're more interested in their business than their price.
- SUB: in my opinion could change the world. Anything that may fundamentally impact the internet will change the world, and this should do it for the better. Not to mention the potential for passive income going forward.
- LEND: Another great community and utility product. Being able to leverage coins/tokens is a must going forward and their product is also functioning right now.
I also like Burst: The greenest platform I can find. Cheap, fast, effective, and mining requires harddrive space instead of power-hungry CPU. To me, it's no-frills but does what it does great.
I do see a swing back to bitcoin on the cards, so while I'm looking to re-invest in the projects I like, i'll be waiting to see where the market goes.
until next time! enjoy
