Can someone explain where all these $billions from crypto markets are going?

According to Coinmarketcap website, On January 7th 2018 the Total Market Cap was $822 billions and some change On January 16 2018 the Total Market Cap is $540 billions…wondering where the $282 billions went? That’s 35%...I do understand the ICO's funding, the big whales cashing out argument, but still...this is a huge chunk of money
