I got involved, as I suspect many did, around November last year when things were on the up. Without any knowledge of the underlying volatility of the market, and in the middle of a massive uptrend, it was easy to take advice on what coins to buy and to put stock in advisors on Twitter who made recommendations for investments that grew. With hindsight, there are a lot of bullshitters who ride an uptrend with random advice that isn't based on anything at all.
