Steem2ETH Swap: Using the Alchemy API

in crypto •  9 months ago

Yesterday I mentioned that from 14/Feb (in 3 days), the Infura API will be restricted. Luckily I found out that the Alchemy API provides free and generous API accesses to ETH and other blockchains.

Thus, I have migrated the eth_gasPrice and eth_getBlockNumber two heavy APIs to Alchemy API.

Now, the load to Infrua is trivial, juist one API per minute or so (eth_getBalance)

For Alchemy API, the average call is 11 CU (call unit) per second, which averages to 28 Million per months, so the free plan of Alchemy API is more than enough as it provides 300 M per months free quota.

!ask what is Steem DAO?

Steem DAO refers to the decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) that operates on the Steem blockchain. Steem is a blockchain-based social media platform that rewards users for creating and curating content. The Steem DAO is designed to govern various aspects of the Steem ecosystem, including funding proposals, project development, and network upgrades.

In a DAO, decisions are made collectively by the community of token holders through a consensus mechanism built into the blockchain protocol. The Steem DAO allows stakeholders to submit proposals for funding, which can range from development projects to marketing initiatives or community events. These proposals are voted on by Steem token holders, and if approved, the requested funds are distributed from the DAO's treasury.

The Steem DAO is intended to foster a more decentralized and community-driven ecosystem by empowering users to participate in governance and decision-making processes. It represents an experiment in self-governance and decentralized organization within the context of a blockchain-based social media platform.
