El Salvador's Bitcoin wager is losing money, according to CoinDesk data based on Bukele's announcements, by 55.03 percent. The nation has bought 2301 coins since September for a total of $103.9 million, but its portfolio is only worth $46.6 million right now.

Alejandro Zelaya, El Salvador's finance minister, stated in May that the country had less than 0.5 percent of its yearly budget in Bitcoin at the time and that the risk of economic instability from Bitcoin losses was "very modest."
